DimTim's national security interests would undoubtedly prevent that from happening; there is a compelling reason why the UK government holds a golden share in RR and pre-funded them during the R&D phases.

I completely agree. Interpreting the recent price action, the dip below 123.50 was particularly significant as it breached the March 2009 lows—a key historical support level. With the recent rebranding, there’s now hope that the trend may reverse and begin moving upward, ideally supported by renewed institutional interest.

I’ve always leaned toward the idea that private enterprise drives progress — but yeah, the older I get, the more I see that when it comes to the essentials, the free market sometimes feels like letting toddlers run a nuclear plant. Energy, water, trains — these aren’t luxury goods; they’re the plumbing of modern life. And if the taps keep leaking and the trains never arrive, then maybe it’s time to give the wrench back to the state.

The CEO thing is spot-on on too. Somewhere along the line, "leadership" morphed into "how fast can we juice this company for shareholder returns and bail before the fallout." It’s less about vision and more about exit strategies. Feels like we’ve confused capitalism with cannibalism.
