I’ve never called £8 in February — that’s your invention, not mine.

As for experience, markets don’t award credibility by job title. They reward those who can read risk, interpret information, and adapt when facts change. Plenty of people with impeccable CVs lose money every cycle; plenty without them do just fine.

If you’ve got cash waiting, fair enough — that’s your strategy. I’ll stick to mine and let outcomes do the talking rather than insults.

Sounds about right — Nettles has one ear on the horizon and one eye on the galley, and even he won’t call the wind this early.

Plenty of sea room in that range. We’ll let the tides, the tempests and the odd cannon shot decide which way the ship drifts.

Markets don’t owe anyone a February target, an emoji count, or a victory lap. They move on liquidity, fundamentals and positioning — not banter.

I’m interested in where the business is heading and how the market prices it over time. If someone wants to call £8 by February, they’re welcome to pin their flag to it.

I’ll stick to process over punchlines.

That’s certainly an impressive amount of letters and colours in one place.

For my simpler charting brain, I’ll stick to price, volume and whether it actually breaks and holds above resistance. If it does — great. If not, all the Ls, Rs and rockets in the world won’t make it fly.

Blue skies are earned on the chart, not declared in advance.

Possibly — markets have a habit of arriving earlier than expected, then making sure nobody’s comfortable when they do.

Whether it comes quickly or takes the scenic route, the real tell will be what happens after it’s reached.

I’ve nothing against M&S — everyone needs socks — but when the world starts rattling sabres, history suggests the market reaches for engines, armour and alloys rather than meal deals.

Different aisles of the market, different customers. I’ll keep one eye on the catwalk… and the other firmly on Rolls, BA and Melrose.

Short answer> slightly upward bias — but with caveats.

Longer view, Captain’s Table–style logic:

First 15–30 minutes after the US open are often noise — positioning, options flow, and program trades shaking the tree. I wouldn’t read too much into the initial spike either way.

If futures are stable-to-green and Europe hasn’t sold off into the close, the bias tends to be buy-the-dip rather than sell-the-rip.

What I’ll be watching:

Does volume expand on green candles after 14:30?

Does price hold above VWAP post-open?

Any sudden USD strength or bond yield spike — those would cap upside quickly.

Base case: modest push higher or sideways grind rather than a sharp selloff.

Risk case: fast early pop, then fade if US desks decide to take profits.

As always, the first hour tells you intent — the close tells you truth.

I try to separate behaviour from structure — people act how they act, markets do what they do.

On the charts, I agree that the setup is constructive. The cup’s well-formed, volume has behaved, and it’s encouraging to see independent chartists arriving at a similar conclusion. That sort of convergence is usually more interesting than any single opinion.

If the market follows through over the next few weeks, great. If it needs more time, that’s fine too. Either way, the price action will tell us — it always does.

Everyone’s entitled to manage risk their own way — selling at £10.25 might have been exactly the right decision for retirment at the time.

Mr.Markets have a habit of making both sellers and holders look smart… just not always on the same day.

I try not to anchor on past trades — the only thing that really matters is what the next decision is, given today’s information.

I use tools, data and models the same way any analyst does — as inputs, not convictions. Posting numbers isn’t the same as believing they’re certainties.

Context, assumptions and timeframes matter far more than the headline figure, and I’m always clear that markets decide, not models.

As for labels, I’m not interested in them. I’d rather discuss ideas than people. If the discussion stays constructive, great — if not, I’m happy to leave it there.

I’m not engaging to “win” or to convince anyone who’s already made up their mind. I engage occasionally because others are reading, and I think it’s worth keeping the discussion grounded and respectful.

The referenced 1320's levels are visible on the tealeaves. Calculated by measuring the depth of the cup with the handle, which is abt 148, the breakout point was around 1175, so now you can go figure out the ETA or timeframe yourself.😉

£16 has always been my destination for 2026, not tomorrow’s tide. £13.20 is merely a waypoint the ship may sail through, pause at, or sail straight past.

Confusing a chart level with a long-term target is how people end up arguing about the compass instead of the voyage.

If we never see £13.20 again — fine. If we do — also fine. The course doesn’t change.

What matters isn’t whose scribble was closest, but whether the engines, cash flow, balance sheet and buybacks keep pushing us forward.

I’m navigating the journey — not shouting numbers from the crow’s nest.

Combined consensus targets are currently @ 1264.64; meanwhile, the tealeaves points to a confirmed and validated breakout above 1175 with a target of 1320's

According to the ship’s cat? A fine creature, no doubt, but I still prefer navigating by charts, cash flow, and cold hard execution rather than whiskers and moon-howling.

Targets will be missed, adjusted, or sailed straight through — that’s the sea we chose, not a mutiny. As for the pirate costume and “copy-paste”, I’ll happily own the crime of doing the homework and keeping the compass steady when the waters get choppy.

If £12 is about to be boarded, that’s a respectable port of call. £30 in the years ahead? Entirely possible — provided the engines keep firing, and the crew keeps delivering. Until then, I’ll stay on the quarterdeck and let results, not noise from the crow’s nest, do the talking.

I’ll happily accept the “Captain” title on the strict understanding that it comes without infallibility. A good sparring partner who’s willing to push back is exactly how blind spots get exposed, and thinking gets sharpened — so gloves on, egos off, and let’s have at it.

If 2026 delivers a mix of long-range charts, uncomfortable questions, a ship’s cat providing unsolicited commentary, and the occasional bout of well-aimed nonsense, I’d say the Nettles blog is doing its job perfectly.
