Fully understand that Purp. I’m sure many, including Bet, will want to join your magnanimous challenge of who’s closest to either 1.42 or 2.00 (p or £) by the end of January. The winners I’m sure will celebrate and the losers will enjoy becoming Reneuron posters no more. I’ve said I’m out, so I better put my money where my mouth is and go.
That seems a fair and magnanimous challenge Purp, which I’m sure will be taken up;hopefully a few others will take sides, join in and abide by the result. I for one won’t await the outcome but will bow out now. Hopefully there won’t be a future bet on the closest to a pound, but who knows!
When I dreamt before Christmas of Purple and Bet, sitting off the West African coast in their dinghy together, holding their flutes and wishing us a merry Christmas I missed the significance of the logo on their purple polo shirts, “The One Pound Club”. It now all makes sense. Was it Olav I saw on the tiller?
A realistic reflection of where we are Jackdaw - good post.
Good post TGMax - we can either get out, and as a result stop moaning, and stop shovelling blame or realise that it could be a half full glass as you suggest. The reality of course is we don’t know and what ever happens it’ll be done to us by the big two or three shareholders but we always knew that! So what’s new. I think I’ll hang around.
Jackdaw is correct - it should be value neutral apart from the caveats he refers to. The 1p is a nominal sum and is not relevant to market price.
A worry that there may be the need for a further cash call and the potential for dilution but good progress, which is in line with novel treatments and our published expectations.. An informative statement by the CEO on likely timescales for interest by potential partners or buyers, particularly his take that they will rather pay a premium than take a risk now - once success is assured the numbers are relatively easy to work out on what is a good price to pay. Hopefully his comments can inform investors on whether to stay or leave - whether we wish to be remoaners or exiters or conversely are just prepared to wait and see.
During this season of joy are we on the cusp of a bromance between, I’m a celebrity get us out of here Purplebricks and I’ve said it before (more than once) get the Board out of here Betfred. Let’s hope so and let’s hope 2018 doesn’t bring Purple’s pessimistic floor nor Fred’s god forbid 5p buyout. Instead let us hope, as we open the next door of our Cadbury’s advent calendars, to see the smiling faces of B&B, Bricks and Bet wishing us a happy and prosperous 2018 from their shared sloop somewhere off West Africa. Have a good one everyone.
The article cites Kerrisdale Capital who, in a 29 page report "The next Big Biotech Blow-UP", comment on Prothena Corporation, where Neil is the largest shareholder. Kerrisdale allege that Phase 3 trials will fail to realise significant results and seems to accuse Patient Capital of historically bidding prices up but adds that their effect does not last. The report cites that buyers should beware if no notable healthcare-hedge funds are involved. Kerrisdale does have history, a few years ago they questioned some of Neil's investments and predicted a slump in market value. Possibly the only salient point is the absence of notable healthcare-hedge funds, and their reasons for avoiding Reneuron? Make of that as you will - personally I have no insight into their rational, other than we are tiny.
Times today - Interesting commentary on Neil’s involvement in biotech’s and the possible implications of an absence of major hedge funds in a particular share’s performance. The hawks and doves will no doubt have a view.
Who to follow - the ironic and occasionally (very) pointed King Purplebricks, (where Neil has perhaps made his only decent turn) or Ill keep saying the same thing for several years and perhaps nobody will notice King BetFred (where Neil may have wished he'd put his money). Only you will know but stating the obvious dont bet your shirt if youre short of buttons. For those of us who've been around a while we of course hope Fred is right (but not at 5p please) but the fear that he may be wrong can get some goats up when Purple strikes a different (but equally valid) view of reality. There are examples elsewhere of people buying badly (and losing their shirt) on the back of fantasy postings (I know most postings state no opinion) so if Purple's rhetoric prevents one of those and creates some balance then I for one am happy to read an alternative point of view - even though I hope Fred sometime in the distant future is right!
Fellow countryman Zed, you're so right, it’s just one day since the coronation of our new King and his decree from the throne to release us from the purgatory of past regimes. Now that this enlightened King, whose only focus is the well being of his subjects, is resident in Reneuron Palace I feel confident that I can retire to my padded cell. A cell which prevents pain when I bang my forehead against its walls as voices of previous regimes re-emerge. Au revoir fellow countryman Zed. I leave you in safe hands. Long live the new King.
Dawn rises over our new kingdom and shines light on rejoicing and celebration. On this first day would the masterful one also proclaim that he is never leaving his loyal subjects. In darker times declarations of, “I’m off” punctuated our kingdom, raising the hopes of suppressed subjects, but those hopes and dreams were soon dashed, with a fanfare of, “I’m back”. Long live the new King.
Oh masterful one, as the new King of Reneuron, please promise that you recognise your faithful servants have some intellect, and your reign will be marked by the absence of kleptocracy, pomposity and irrationality. Behaviours that were all too frequent during past reigns. Long live the new king.
