RE: Lets face it.26 Jul 2024 11:43
Why did Rene fail? Clearly its clinical trials failed, which is an understood risk, and it ran out of cash, which is also not surprising given the cost of developing a novel therapy far exceeds anything raised, but towards the end Rene seemed to have stumbled upon a unique even if unproven delivery mechanism? Yet Fosun seems to see little value, unless of course it’s licence deal allows free exploitation; Big Pharma, which has multi-billion dollar R&D budgets, equally seems unprepared to spend dimes buying Rene’s IPR. So were Rene so inept they were unable to convince others of concept or worth? Was the technology as good as we may have been led to believe? Or were we as shareholders sold a myth, while vested and perhaps incompetent interests drew down eye-watering salaries? I’ve no clue, but do understand that if the administrators suck a million bucks out of Fosun, that’s worth two cents a share ( less tax and fees of course😀). Nonetheless I enjoyed the banter and ride, even if an expensive one. The reality, we’re simply a statistic that makes up the 90+% of developments that fail. But it was always so; a punt that is now water under the Williamsburg bridge. Having said that I’m still expecting a cheque to cover a slab of Bud for some far off weekend. Have a good summer.
