Thanks for the local news Sting. Not particularly palatable but ignore the impulsive board retort.
Thanks Purp although the commentary on Avacta’s board looks very familiar LOL.
Anyway may I wish fellow Rene sufferers a good Christmas and those who got out with a profit an even better one. 2019 will of course be what it will be but if we’re here for the long haul then it goes without saying we have to take the rough with the smooth. But let’s hope it’s a good one but don’t bank on it!
My dear ‘No Opinions’
As it’s Christmas I’m going to strike a conciliatory note between the boards greatest contributors: Purp and Fred. Of course Fred is right; if Rene strike an exclusivity deal like the last one then the sp is probably going to repeat what we witnessed lthen. On the other hand Purp is also right in that most of what’s written by young Fred has little regard to reality and is invariably ‘jam tomorrow’. Having said that if I was a betting man my money is with Fred on this one - 72p rather than 27p - based on one of the products probably getting a marketing agreement. But I’m less optimistic of ever getting my money back but I knew that when I bought. A huge happy Christmas to P&F (and lets hope Fred’s right for once).
Hi no opinion aka Winklebelly, We very much appreciate your festive sentiments but board readers would be very grateful if you could follow Freddi’s new template and start your posts with, “ Hi no opinion”. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you in anticipation. Have a wonderful Christmas.
I think Freddi’s new iniative (Friday 23rd) to address everyone as, “Hi, no opinion” is a good one. It would mean that derivatives, for instance Purp being repeadly called by ingenious versions of his surname will be a thing of the past. I for one endorse this new form of salutation; it’s undoubtedly a sign of things to come. I wonder if Michael Hunt thought of it?
As Mr W would say: I’m buying stakes in businesses with outstanding intellectual property and helping them fulfil their growth potential through the deployment of long-term patient capital
If you are going to question an industry model, attack the CEO or each other could you leave me off the heading please - my dog is easily offended LOL - thanks. Personally I've no idea when or if we'll get out of these doldrums but I'm pretty confident that the 60+% non-retail shareholders are not going to take a blind bit of notice of our comments or ultimately our sensitivities. Nevertheless lets hope young Olav has a rabbit tucked away somewhere.
Do we really think the three major non-retail shareholders would sell at this price? Possibly not.
I’ve no idea whether the odds of a deal are good or bad; it is not however unfamiliar industry practice and therefore it’s not surprising that activity is taking place. Given the plethora of experts who play in this area of ‘matchmaking’, even at these relatively early stages of development, it could be a concern if no deal or deals take place.
We now know what a JV update can look like! If another should emerge let's hope its more positive, albeit $2.5m, assuming Reneuron's costs in supporting some form of data room, due diligence and US lawyer costs weren't too high, extends it's capabilitiy to withstand its 'cash burn' by a couple of months. Will that make a material difference; who knows?
Reneuron signed a three month exclusivity deal on or around July 11th, which doing the math suggests it concludes on or before mid October. Do we expect them to present some hyperbole in between times that it’s awesome, its going well, going badly or rather something positive or negative when it or the due diligence has been concluded. These market sensitive issues are not some board ‘encouraged rambles’.
Do you mean nanovesicles? If so, they’re both cell based delivery mechanisms.
BTW and for clarity, particularly as the rest of my post refers to Purp, the reference to gratuitous and inappropriate attention seeking was not about him!
Juxta, is it gratuitous and inappropriate attention seeking, who knows? Whilst Purp’s form of rhetoric is sometimes (or often LOL) inappropriate some may agree that his provision of an antibody to potentially misleading ramping provides some balance. Hopefully his colourful contribution may make some poor soul think twice before sinking the family silver into what, by its very nature, is a high risk investment. Like you and most on this board I hope Purp is ultimately proved wrong but that doesn’t stop me welcoming this one counter weight to sometimes obsessive posting.
Purp, I haven’t heard that descriptor for quite a while but what I’ve given up trying to understand is how a shareholder who not too long ago seemed to suggest a holding close to that requiring declaration, now seems to imply a portfolio several factors smaller. Have I missed a fire sale or am I inadvertently a bit part player in some form of weird fantasy? Nevertheless a poor damson crop this year so you’re probably right, although the Co-op have Robinsons’ on sale.
So, during this lull in proceedings I’ve rumonated on who has potentially done most damage to new or nervous investors, who has led private investors up the garden path, particularly those gullible enough to believe the nonsense sometimes expressed on this board (guilty as charged)? Is it Purp who has consistently stated get out whilst you can, and during his reign has overseen a predicted collapse in share price or those who blantantly stated the share carried no risk; who ramped a price of £10 by (each) ‘Christmas’ and who feverishly highlighted a strong buy? Let’s not vilify one and honour those who thus far have consistently got it wrong and perhaps caused some to lose their shirt. But on the other hand whilst a fan of Purp and the balance he’s brought, and will hate the “told you so” bleating of some if the price shoots up, I’ll of course be there with the rest cashing my cheque in such glorious circumstances!
Confused. Consistently this board reflected a view that the BoD were a load of plonkers and Olav in particular should be strung from the mainsail of a certain contributor’s mast. Could this board have got it wrong, could the BoD have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make this business a success? Surely not! Of course we’ve only taken a tiny step, yet someone clearly has belief in the future. Who knows but let’s hope they’re right!
Purp, can you take a view on jokes that are starting to appear on this board. Thanks
Purp, whilst I too hope you’re ultimately proved wrong, although I recognise the odds are stacked in your favour, can you please maintain an ecliptic orbit with your scanners carefully focussed, even if that means maintaining radio silence. Perhaps some form of recognition software programmed to look for certain named consonants or even obvious ramping may save you time. I’d hate the board to become re-infested during your self-imposed exile. BTW for what it’s worth my second cousin, who used to work on the counter at Boots the chemist is still struggling to locate circling predators.
So, I’ve been reflecting. Do you think my second cousin, who worked on the counter at Boots the chemist, is a ramper or a de-ramper. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised.
