are just that...Sunak so far has shown he undertands finance/business and I would imagine he very much see's the need for investment and growth along with energy security more importantly...in addition any country that does not have a stable tax system becomes univestable. We will see over coming weeks if Sunak is more grown up than the populist ill thought WFT noise makers and we have a coherent energy policy going forward that can actually deliver the primary energy any nation needs from it's own sources.

The price of gas in Europe will remain high for years to come following the cuts in deliveries from Russia, the chief executive of Norway's Equinor (EQNR.OL) said on Friday.

one thing Liz Truss did get right was the need for investment and more gas/oil.....the net zero path is a route to destrction, ever increasing cost and further away than many will admit. Every nation needs secure primary energy source, without it everything stops.
Transistion to 'cleaner' fuels that can be relied on, that will replace like for like and be reliable to run economies and modern households is going to be many years away and any nation that does not secure/develop cheap primary energy is vulnerable and moving backwards.

with gas prices at current levels a further WFT would be hard to justify, more likely to recieve a tax break or refund :-)

The lack of investment in oil and gas will only see prices higher over the next few years...governments cannot support artificially low energy bills for ever and there is simply not enough oil and gas to support economies going forward....renewables are years away from providing sustainable and reliable energy and the lack of oil and gas will not be rectified in a couple of years............KIST and the like only grow from here imo, profitable, cash rich companies with a product in demand is a pretty safe investment case, despite the short term macros ;-)
