Please forgive my ignorance, but I though the AMEC F/W purchase (2017) brought a lot of grief (apparently due diligence/ financial/legal `experts' missed a lot). WG has been paying down the debts and costs incurred steadily. The old `turnkey' contracts are, almost, a thing of the past. Wood, to my knowledge, has never been in danger of default. The lenders get paid, and will continue to get paid (cash is flowing through WG). On the downside, insufficient surplus is being created for WG to announce a cash flow shortage. My own finances tell me that cash flow shortages are to be anticipated and can be managed. I dont like Wood having to sell assets to cover cash flow issues...

Why even post assertions (ie without evidence) when WG is in suspension. The clearly have carried their `bets' into suspension...MW is reducing, but not out...

The trolls posting during suspension is nuts. The PI's are meaningless. The institutions will have an idea of value, as will Sidara. Lets see if they can agree on value proposition. The gloomsters/doomsters/naysayers with undefined, but asserted, propositions are better off following Trump and Boris Johnson, and their kind...now isn't hat scary...everything built on shaky foundations. I don't think the derampers have even mentioned this...perhaps they dont even know!

Cluster**** wow. I drove up the east coast of Scotland to Wick, from Glasgow, and there was a missive off shore wind farm project taking place. But with due respects, its from our mistakes we learn...and if that can be exchanged and transferred in organizations...that is a source of competitive advantage...its not LEGO. Hence, among other things, I think Sidara are after the Wood group as a whole. The aim of the deplorables is to create FUD, and forget the bigger/wider picture.

Anyway, a conversation I am interested in, but its the WG board and many might not see the connections that I am exploring. Organization capability/capacity is not something that can be replicated, it is embedded in networks, relationships, cultures etc. Some criticize Wood for its EDI, to me collaborative and thought provoking teamwork requires mutual respect and understanding. But hey, too many seem to think its inefficient...

Did that involve day release at college to learn the underlying theory? Good to see apprenticeships coming back, hopefully with the same rigour of the past. I am 67, I remember my friend left school to pursue an apprenticeship with Weir Pumps at 16...it was solid learning.

Luca, I am also sure...Sidara may walk away with a bargain. Would nor surprise me if Sidara marshaled forces to suppress the SP. They are, after all, well connected and powerful individuals...our KG seems out of his depth. Sympathy to the long term holders if Sidara take WG on the cheap. However, I hope the new backers, with deep pockets and connections, will provide the Wood engineers and staff with a secure future. As an insider/one with Knowledge what are your views on the proposition that Scottish Universities and their Engineering research and knowledge provided the seed bed, and virtuous cycle of growth (of course with the opportunity provided by North Sea Oil).

I suppose I should also thank the de-rampers, I have had to consider what they say, evaluate and decide, but they did not provide much reasoned analysis. The discussions between ICE and JO have been great-reasoned critical discussion. Thanks to all others who have offered/shared open honest views.

Seems people are suggesting AIM companies...many are untrustworthy, high risk and under regulated. Seems to me large miners are a good bet for the medium to long term. After gathering wood money, i will be looking to Rio, BHP and Glen...Rio remains my preferred owing to their dividend policy and healthy bank balance.
