Daz, exactly. I also get the impression that WG announcements, and internal comms, do not indicate need for panic, more a need for vigilance in the competitive landscape...but hey so much more to come/unfold...

Etc. i make no sp prediction, i make the assumption Sidara are interested in acquiring, and have intimated that should another bidder emerge they reserve the right to up their proposal. Aimmaster, lets see how the deal pans out for uk...also china us trade talks in Switzerland, i dont think that is going to be easy given the us china hawks. Much more instability to come with potential war between india and pakistan, israel out of control, ukraine conflict no end in sight etc. etc.

I thought WG comparator was Worley, have I missed others? If not there are only 2 in the western world in this domain (I think China has their own now, I posted regarding this before)

The deplorables have focused on one point (and its not insignificant), that is the debt and the underpinning balance sheet. What they ignore is a) what relationship banking means b) the fact lenders have not intimated any problem with their RCF c) WG write offs on Balance Sheet d) payment of fines and compensation for exiting contracts (these are historic, and in the past) which affect the P&L account (is it referred to as the trading account now?) e) continuing receipts from ongoing contracts f) healthy and growing order book...

I must have missed a lot. Please advise.

some 9 companies across architecture, Civil Engineering, and some Energy (Penspen). If you look at WG competitor analysis, Sidara is not in the `landscape'. There is a reason Sidara pursued Worley for so long, and then came for Wood.

Wood not on NYSE. I have committed funds after researching. I may be wrong, but I dont think Sidara will want to let Wood go...they (Sidara) have a big gap in their portfolio of engineering and design firms, but plenty of opportunities given their contacts and where they are located.

Xcat, there are no corporate onds...you need to look closer at Wood group financing. A RCF of 1.2bn on some 6bn turnover is not something to be worried about...generating surplus cash is what I look forward to...and its not far away, should all go to plan (give or take a year or two).

...oh the creditors will have no desire/vested interest in jeopardising their capital outlay and secure returns (they will not want a `haircut')...having said that Wood management need to continue paying down debt and move towards profitability. 200K cash shortfall is not significant given WG turnover. Of course that cannot carry on...and Sidara clearly see a very viable proposition.

WG does not have, superior debt, corporate bonds (like GKP did- see Nadhim Zahawi role there), and as far as I am aware WG has unsecured creditors...I suppose cash flow will service their loans, and provide the returns the creditors are happy with.
