There is no major issue with cash flow, after all you would expect post-covid effects and there must be a lot of cash coming in and flowing out. Seems WG current account is/has been healthy (250m shortfall on 5-6bn turnover isn't significant when causes have been/are being addressed). As to balance sheet, I think the lenders provide a facility to cover the inevitable lag between WG delivery and Client payment...the working capital side. The balance sheet is much more historical and always unreliable, fortunately WG groups main capital is human resource capital, hence unsecured debt (ie reliant on continued income generation). Human resource capital accounting has been difficult for the accountancy arithmeticians accountants (but a decades long issue). People (including organizational capabilities) are crucial assets for Companies like Wood. Wood continue to get orders, they continue to fulfil contracts...and the will continue to do so. The primary failure of companies is a) cash flow issues (WG do not have a big problem) b) lenders withdraw . If WG do not really have cash flow issues; lenders have lent on financing an ongoing business what is the big issue that cannot be resolved. Is all this a storm in a teacup?

What the WG story (and others) tell you is that Accountants, Auditors, Financiers and corporate managers are not to be trusted...

Graff, if WG is a bargain, the alternative bidders will appear. We need to see how a) historical accounts are restate, and impact, if any, on lenders b) Current in/out flow from ongoing (and past) stream of work (trading statements) c) advance payments from current orders etc. etc. We just do not know enough to make any judgement about WG value.

Accounts are historical, they are a narrative built on assumptions and conventions. To me cash in/cash out (cashflow) is the issue. If WG can service debt and other outgoings. There was/is an anticipated shortfall of about 4% of anticipated revenue during a period of restructuring and change. The issue is balance sheet adjustment (then the creditors calculation of risk). To me cashflow shortfall is not significant and business seems to be booming, Hence Sidara remain on table, and will do all they can to get WG as cheaply as they can.

Ice, It was the level of institutional holding (and limited selling) that tempted me to buy (albeit in the decline) into WG. I remain convinced that II's have more insight than us PI's. Happy to await the final outcome...

Kando lets hope the cash flow situation has improved, and the impending balance sheet issues are addressed...all out of our hands...but the not been a good 2/3 years under the stewardship of KG and his board
