Anglo would have been aware of his position when they made him an offer. He is not employed by them until,he starts his first day. Anglo may have accepted that he continues in his Non-exec. position as Chairman of Aca for the time it takes to complete the deal which hopefully will be a very short time. This is all a good sign if you as me.,

He himself may elect to stay on as he is very likely to gain a very high profit on his options and is he moved back to South Africa may become a citizen of S. Africa gaining also tax advantages!!

All which would have been agreed and approved by Anglo in advance of his appointment. .

Last trade at 4.29 was at 122.20 and the large trade was under code SINT which was a deferred trade and at 122.30 was not a sell, per the stock market daily chart- interesting. Morning star do not get it right all the time.

I still feel KD could esaily have resigned from both of his positions which would have been the easiest thing for him to do. So why has he stayed on at Aca for another month? Again interesting!!

The large fund Managers I have asked see the events surronding this share as a blip, so they are not going to sell up on a big loss. Their eventual gain will be the shorter's loss what ever the shorter's have made in the short term they will lose in the long term.

Acacia have said Kelvin is still Non-Exec Chairman and has not resigned from this post at Acacia, despite resigning from Barrick Gold as president. He is due to join Anglo from 1st September and so I am wondering if he is staying on either to push through the deal, or may be thinking about taking/introducing Acacia to Anglo? The current situation is certainly interesting. If the Acacia are buying their options then we know something is coming. It would be far easier for
him to resign unless he could see financially a reason for him to stay on?

That's what the say. Certainly their is support for Acacia today.

One question is are Barricks Poltical risk insiurers involved. If so the talks remain confidential and Insurers will be advising the Company how to find a solution. I also would feel if they do it is most likely they have business interruption insurance too.They will certainly need Insurance on the cargo's held at the local port.
I am not surprised by the confidentiality but was hoping for some news for conclusion. The fact the time frame has been taken away means a standstill for time is in place and this means a crucial stage has been drawn which will mean very soon either a break through or court proceedings. They Barrick will also have legal expenses cover. I see the talks being protracted for a very short time now and then as soon as court proceedings are issued a solution will be found. All commercial negotiations go this way unfortunately. However if court proceedings are issued I see a positive reaction to the share price.as Barrick/Acacia have always maintained they have done nothing wrong. I do not see why Cambridge or Oxford universities science labs are not requested to under take independent tests on the composites if it is felt the govt. is wrong as this will become evidence in court. .

I couldn't copy and paste the rules for fear of copyright and infringement but you can look up the rules I conducted a search and found a link on "ask jeeves" and found first the ESMA rules and then written for LRGS under page notes on page 14.
I did not see if there were any further restrictions on the transfer of the options but I presume the parties are European and hence the need to satisfy the requirements. It did state "options" and therefore not necessarily a full committal to purchase which might be why there appears to have been a trade reversal. i.e. For record only purposes. The timing is interesting as someone did say on an earlier post that Barrick were supposedly reporting an update this week?

What I read last night was that the 2.8 m was entered under the code LRGS which is a code used under Euro rules for options and is not a code for a full purchase as it is not a full commitment to purchase. So I wonder if to comply with the Euro rules the entry was made on the basis it was entered as recorded to not be a full purchase but was entered for audit purposes.

I cannot see this as bad news as still feel this was an option in expectation of some news from Barrrick. v.soon?

Agree chaps Morning star report Marstons Beer sales up 61%. I think the announcement from them really plays down the performance increase from the warmer weather and World Cup. As the warm weather continues the sales for Beer from the supermarkets will increase further too.

This could be chaps what we have been waiting for. I read the Management of Aca have options and if this is them taking them up then it is a very good sign. You will find reference to it on page 14 of the ESMA rules.

Appears the trade per the LSE immediately before the big 2.8million one was at 106.64 and then the big one went on at 113.40 so it looks like an attempt to buy but carries the Stock market code LRGS with the reason as a large trade post trade deferral?) Is someone attempting to obtain a waiver and or lodge a take over attempt?

I also own the majority of the other Gold miners, i.e. HOC, CEY to name a couple more, but none are rising as much as Aca. I still feel tomorrow will bring something and whats more someone somewhere knows something. I find when pushed Aca usually come back to me quite quickly but not today - so this compounds my thought process.

Still lets see if now or rather tomorrow is the time for a positive announcement which is after all a long time over due!.

Looks very interesting. It would make sense for the Tans deal to be announced and for Kelvin to push through before he leaves at the end of August.

Something is definitely going on here. i.e. Something as important as the Aca Chairman leaving Barrick and not even an announcement on the Acacia site. Also the press officer for Aca has left too. A progress announcement is due tomorrow from Barrick and the share price here rises sharply this morning? I have asked the new press officer what is going on and still no reply?

Kelvins knowledge is important to Anglo which is why they have appointed him? He has a track record of turning Aca into cash production and at the moment Aca's share price is approaching an all time low? He also has options which may be why he has not yet announced his resignation from Aca? Perhaps if Aca are taken with him he can also transfer over his options? I cannot see him working for both in Tansania as surely there will be a conflict? I notice Giles the investor relations fella at Aca has left now too? Interesting?
