Folks just thought as Wincanton transport services provide the Logistics and warehouse management for among others Sainsburys as well as Wicks/travis, etc, and Tesco. Could they be a major benefactor of the Sainsburys expansion plans?

Lots of people with money seem to like the Asda GEORGE stores which might also be what Sains are after. I think Sainsburys lost the upper class reputation when Waitrose became more widely known.

As a distraction/ Discussion point? Why not? Did Sainsbury object the booker deal? Only the senior staff at our local Asda are full time none of the others want to work their over 40 hours a week! How reliable all this will be for Sainsburys who knows?

Wondering as they appear to supply everyone else? Win, win for Tesco shareholders as where will Sainsburys get the 10 Billion by borrowing? Costs rising less discount for shoppers. Also extra charges needed for senior senior management redundancies, retraining the Asda staff in Sainsburys ways. and a lot of Asda customers may prefer Tesco to Sainsburys as I do in anycase. Asda Uk have been really struggling and I feel this will bring Sainsburys down a notch or three and suggest a very poor decision. As the commission insist on closing down (where two or more of their stores exist) Tesco and others could buy if they wanted. I do not feel buying a struggling Supermarket clever at all- Walmart must be laughing their Nylon socks off! Tesco however were very, very clever buying Booker who supply a lot of the smaller supermarkets that could gain from all this.

Although when I last went to Sainsburys I thought it was in Asda to be honest, shelves not fully stocked, floors dirty, rubbish everywhere on the floor, opened spilt food left unhygenically partly on shelves. partly on the floor and foods out of date. I haven't been there again since. They suit each other. Our local Tesco's is certainly a class above, clean fruit, everything tidy, even helpful staff While Sains and Asda concentrate on the tie up they will lose their focus and have to close stores which will be less sales for the group as a whole. I will stick with Tesco who lets face it even on the ever increasing Petrol price will take sales back back to No1. I feel Tesco are Good, Asda is bad and Sainsburys is now ugly!

Once the news breaks I expect those with options (i.e. The Directors) and Fund Managers to Steam in as at the last open conference with Barrick it was expected finalisation and an announcement for approval to shareholders will be during H2 and just put back from H1, and so we should get something soon without any more problems,

If he was Mr reliable he would agree with the cross section of all brokers in the Market. For Acacia since the AGM this is the first time in ages I have seen Brokers suggest Buy and strong buy with neutrals over sells. I will put this as no opinion until Opium has digested his sandwiches. The fact the price has not gone up today indicates that perhaps the AGM has continued for some time. I hope the Mnagement were pressured into answering some diificult questions as to when we can get a recvoery in the share price, Or perhaps if the big fund managers see future growth we will see the price moving up from tomorrow?

Thank the latest Uk lower than expected inflation figures, i.e.. less liiekly for a Uk Govt interest rate rise, Pound will be worth less, and any dollar producing share will therefore be worth more. Hochschild is also up by a similar amount, however as all those who have had the time to study the ABX webcasts know the news will be exceptional very soon.. Keep your seats belts on chaps until this is released as I do not feel this will be long now.

Rather make money from home than travel and make it for someone else. Got stressed out travelling up to the smoke and being gone for too many hours in the day, so started investing from my 40's as much as I could into my pension which was invested mostly out of the Uk and I took my opportunity with the currency change of a falling sterling to get out early, which I was told my pension had increased year on year 20% a year - nice, so I don;t need to work in London and certainly do not miss the travel. I do miss the few beers of a lunchtime however!!! Best of luck & cheers Super

Agree with Opium that the AGM could be interesting, but I am too old to travel. Opium cheer up mate you do have new money look at what your Tesco's shares have done today, and they will probably be suppling the sandwiches!!!!

Opium maybe you can get in there and take a position to report back truthful events? Seems to me the way forward is up on all accounts and this Company is getting ready for expension after the AGM which is proposed to be held very soon. One investment firm on Bloomberg last week reckons Gold to climb higher significantly this year if the trade wars continues or gains momentum.

Cannot see this being a negative meeting. The big fund managers Blackrock. M&G etc will all expect as much. Now Aca is out of the top 250 Comps, it might actually help with fund managers showing a trend towards those looking for growth. The fact the announcement came today when the price is down is a sign to me we need to keep focussed and not distracted from negative short terms views.
