As an observation the taking away of a deadline is what we Insurers used to call a standstill agreement. This is when discussions are open where litigation once threatened. Of course it could still happen but the standstill of no set deadline calls the lawyers off for a period of negotiation. Acacia have not mentioned that they have Political risk insurance for the very thing we have here, but most American majors do have this and so this may be a key for Barrick with their negotiation as their Policy will normally cover their own activities, employees, subsidiaries, etc,etc. and the wording itself will be sufficiently wide enough to cover Acacia I am sure. A Usd300m Limit would not be unheard of by the way!

Yes I am referring to what has been written here recently and if a hedge fund manager wants to stir things up to try and stop the finalisation of the deal this is because they see themselves suffering a big loss and are as such taking extreme protective measures.
The good thing is as the Times have reported the action the Company (ACA) can make sure all is in order and above board for the deal to succeed having been pre-warned.
I see if the deal looks done we will some some sort of panic both from private investors wanting to get back in quick to make short term gain, and the shorts panicking as the price literally rockets upwards.

Thanks for the article it is good the hedgers are panicking and doing all,they can to scupper the deal. We must be getting close now. I am sure the Aca board will consider and act according to the law. The hedgers must be really worried to even start writing letters. At least the Times has identified what they have done to enable Aca to prepare.

Opium everyone knows of the Chinese interest just keep an eye on "The Citizen". It also makes prefect sense for them to make suggestions if they wish to join the party. Perhaps they have introduced some "Satay" starters - Ha, ha!

Understand the ACA press officer is back tomorrow so we may hear some more -who knows? Clearly there is so something here worth discussing for a longer time which to me creates positive value in the Company and so I am surprised by the falls, but not now surprised by the B/Rock hedge!! They do seem to get the word don't they. Once they start building up their stake again may be the time to watch! .

Could it be others have an interest in the party? i.e. Barrick/ACA could easily raise the funds if say the Chinese wanted to pay to have a share, based on future reserves in the ground and what is held in containers I can see why they would want to?

I see the fact that the discussion's continue as good news and especially as it has taken so long to get here it looks as if an eventual conclusion will be found outside of a court.

A note out by Acacia today that Blackrock are increasing their % ownership of the Company further. They seem to see a reason to increase their share ownership and we will have something out from ACA soon as they are not idiots and once before they did this a statement was issued the day after that was positive. Lets see what happens?.Hope so anyway.

Franky, if you are like me I feel I may as well hold on now. The shorters are sniffing out nervousness. I communicate with the Company and can see that even their titles on their e'mails have changed recently to reflect Acacia London, etc, which means an office is being set up and used in Tansania as per the Govt.'s wishes. So the Company is falling in line with the agreements made so far. I also can see more life in Acacia outside Tansania too, what with very good results from exploration in other Countries so all is not lost. I am just waiting and being patient as hopefully we will have some very positive news soon. It is interesting the shorters are working now you see and not after any subsequent announcement isn't it. They will know that even if they lose on the shorts (if they have options) they can hold their next batch and wait for the price to rise significantly. So make up for losses on the way up. What they are doing at the moment I suspect is hedging any potential outcome. They do not always short and their position could change in an instant which will mean when the tide turns there is going to be one hell of a rush to buy. . .

if shorters are selling now they make me laugh! This must be a desperate act to get private investors to sell, but if the private investors are buying or sticking than the only people selling are the shorters, and they are going to get seriously cut short!! In fact if none of the private investors are selling and it is only the shorts, then in my mind it is time to buy!

More good news is I see from an ACA release this morning Blackrock increased slightly their % in ACA and this was a good sign last time and just before a more positive Aca announcement. I am sure something is in the wings. Glad I held on to my shares.

After Wall St. opening some support this way. Soon Aca press office will have to make an announcement if it is to diary a date for a release. Should get exciting very soon!!

Wall st, Opening soon. At least ABX will be seeing the price fall too? All very strange but not unexpected as the negotiations deadline approaches and people panic. However anyone hoping to simply dip back in if anything positive comes out, may find they can't due to the sudden demand? Gold / Silver price now slightly on the up, as we await the Fed. decision on rates. This will be an interesting couple of days- I am not selling..

They are not stupid and where'as before they were just interested in buying a share of the reserves they might soon see another opportunity to simply buy out Acacia, especially at these give away prices. -watch this space!! .

Suspect after this was agreed they knew the price was going to fall, BUT also that it gave them an opportunity when the price came back. In other words they may well know that the end result of the Govt deal is going to be a positive one. I just hope they can announce something positive soon and when I am about because once this happens the price is going to rocket (even Trump will not stop the launch of this one!).

The deadline for the discussions is the end of June and so maybe the fund managers have a feeling that some good news is on its way? Last time they waded in late on in the day, or on American time, an announcement shortly followed , so I think they were either very lucky last time around, or have someone who may be familiar with the matter (as Bloomberg would say). Certainly interesting and a good spot if true! Lets see what tomorrow brings?

What with the winter Olympic figs being added in for the next results, just wondering if any Trump deal encourages growth for N.Korea will they need power? As Aggreko were out there for the winter Olympics this may help them for growth going forward in this developing market?

It will soon be be crunch time in that the end of June was the deadline set by ABX (Barrack) for the discussion with the Tans. Govt. Clearly those small holders with a nervous disposition are selling and not willing to take a punt which the end of month will determine is whether it is good news or not? However soon we will see what the major fund managers feel and I have suspicion there will be a deal of sorts or the case will clearly be going to an international business court which the Tanzanian Govt will not want politically if they want to encourage new investment. It could get rocky for a couple of weeks in my opinion -but I am waiting as I have waited so long and actually do not feel an international arbitration to be such a bad thing. in the long run-Lets see.

Found out yesterday it appears Aca are still in their H1 and I understand an announcement is expected within the next month and so I just hope it is good news. In the meantime Mr T is doing his best to upset the World and this might increase tensions and precious metals?

I do not mind people having their own opinion. I always will give mine, and do not care less what others think. The opinion is there for people if they want to make a note of it, or not. I am very happy with my results and would not want to shall all of what I have achieved, afterall I managed to get out of the rat race some time ago, the wind ups, the late nights, the train travel,etc,etc, however what I would say is all of the wind-up merchants I worked with who thought they were clever, are ALL still working! There may be a message there somewhere for someone with alternative thinking!
