The Telegraph article says this was discussed in 2012 and anything over 30% was then considered to be a take over approach? Barrick have already very good working relationships with the Chinese who are not only their no.1 client but also the Worlds biggest buyers of Gold. The two already share mines in South America,( Argentina) being one where they have helped. The investment will help Acacia start up in the other Countries where they have operations. They also will sort (if not already sorted) the Tans. Govt issue. Did I not read in the press Usd300m going into the local infrastructure a few days ago. Barricks share price over the past 2 years (since with the Chinese) has recovered a lot. This could be a very canny investment, and hope will fly past �2.00 at least and suggest �3.50 in 12 weeks!.

It is interesting there is more than one party of Chinese investors wanting to go after the interests in the actual mines themselves, before any Barrick deal to dilute Acacias ownership to the Tansanian Govt. is a done deal, I still feel any of the parties might find it cheaper to go after the Acacia shares (as these prices) but still feel the news is good news, which must make the shares worth more come Monday whatever way you look at it,

If the Chinese are considering assets of the mones they might find in the end it is just cheaper to buy the whole company? either way it is good news I would suggest. Aca may be able to also move forwars mining in the other Countries where it has interests?

Looked up on the charts and this share is down 68% on the year - so here's hoping the Chinese will pay for the right price to reflect this, and it is not a "take away". Spandeaux Ballet -also had a hit in the charts also didn't they call it "GOLD!!!" lets hope we can now return up the charts!!

If the Rocket starts count down Monday, which it has appeared to have done at close already,, how many will now post STRONG BUY on this site going forward? The Shorters may be caught with their trousers down?. The Chinese now have a tremendous influence in Tansania with the Govt. as I read they have just donated a few billion to their infrastructure projects and lets be honest this will help. Plus they are currently and most probably the biggest market for Gold on the retail market what with new money/ wealth and all -Happy days are here again!. .

I am sure the Acacia management could release something more positive, especially as they referred as such on the Barrick release. They shoud be really making any releases to Acacia shareholders at the same time.

I suppose that is why "Opium" certain people always appear negative in trying to obviously force the price down so that they can come back in at a lower level. Fighting anything positive said by people such as me who do not have to sell. and can wait for announcements. I suppose the lack of same shows no need and no panic as far as the senior management are concerned. I would suggest looking at the webcast I find it very reassuring.. There is abosolutely no panic here. Meantime my other suggested African shares I bought "Investec" and "Old Mutual" continue to grow. I see poor old Standard Life Aberdeen took a big hit today. Another great Uk Comp. sent down for "Shorts" to play with.

Stockabc, it is worth listening to for the full 5-10mins. The question was towards the end to be honest, but I am now even more confident my own funds are secure and should do very well later in the year. Perhaps we will get something else from Kelvin once he gets back home as he was leading the questions at Barrick where he is president. So he is Chairman of Acacia and Prsident of Barrick Gold, so it is not as it Aca does not have major support. The shorters will have a nighmare soon as this thing takes off in the 2nd half! I will wait in hope for my shares to return double of triple gains!!

Just announced in repsonse from a major investor/fund manager question that when the agreement is concluded hopefully soon, it will be put to the Independant committee and then the intention is to put this vote out to shareholders to accept.

I heard them refer to hoping all problems with Acacia are hoping to be sorted by mid-year, and Gold production will increase at Acacia with a higher output but thje Goup will suffer a higher cost. However I see the price of estimated Gold is at a flat price i.e. less than the current market price. The first report is important to me and they feel confident all problems will be sorted. I have said before this is not one for day traders, rather a very good buy for longer term investors. Shorter termers may wish to go elsewhere. I aswell as the major fund managers see this as a blip & good longer term investment. The Copper concentrate is a bonus with rising demand. Group focus on new mining projects should help too..

I'll keep positive and hope ABX announce good news? They need it too. Although we are still not at H1? Either way rising Gold price and even Copper (held awaiting export) should benefit. Also note that the deposits held in store now equal the USD300M needed for the Tans Govt peaceful suggestion by ABX? Vols very low here today influencing price which is going to fluctuate..
