The old Management did nothing apart from reduce the value of the Company significantly and to wind up the Tans Govt. enough to say they would not talk to them anymore. Yet you say they knew their business?. What we need here is someone who understands people and the new Chairman and CEO may be better in that regard. So at least give the new Management a chance, as everyone deserves a chance. The best Football Managers are not the best players, etc,etc. If you have any ideas there is no good putting them out on here, send them in to Acacia who like everyone else can either take your idea's on board or simply bin them, so at least you can say you have tried, Have a great weekend.

I agree with you on all what you have said. I did not buy into Acacia for a quick buck, I actually bought Acacia as a safety share at the time of Brexit. I also bought other miners too, some have done better than others. When the Governor of the Bank of England today says there could be a crash and house prices as an example could fall up to 35% I still feel Gold rather than Sterling could be a safe haven. Also agree that some need to work and I have done my bit and paid my taxes and now volunteer to look after and help people free of charge!!

Ben I do not agree with you on this one. The Chairwomen of Aca holds degrees in Politics and economics (just the thing we have here) I understand KD was not involved in the GOT discussions anyway but was a Gold mining man. The CEO has previous General Manager experience of running Gold Mines. The Senior Director (MK) has held senior positions in the Gold Mining industry for the past 40 years and is in fact Chair of one or two Gold Corporations?

If a Major shareholder buys back he always declares his position to the Company and the notice is issued after the event (i.e. Barrick) Acacia management have share options and the ability to buy shares under the terms of its scheme, and also in its own capacity.
I have never ever seen this as a declaration before the event after all if they did the price would go up!!

Khali I know they are considering buy backs so I do not know why you are so upset. Perhaps you should ask them yourself if they have considered this as you do not appear to believe anyone on the subject. It makes sense for them as well,as major investors and shareholders to show and offer support.

BB-Just wondering are they (Acacia) already buying shares i.e. We had falls in the last week or so and the price seems to be gaining support and creeping back. We do not therefore know if they perhaps are already quietly buying back? I think this would be sensible as soon as they disclose it the price will go up and therefore they will after all have to pay more for their own shares? May be Barrick will think of this idea too. i.e. They could increase their share of Acacia if they really wanted to. I suppose the thing is we will only get a release of any increased share purchase after the event.

Chaps, I have not really ever got in to shorting and so cannot comment truthfully on the practice with any reasoned analysis. I do not approve of borrowing to make money in general and only know people who have lost a lot of money whilst borrowing. I do however buy a small percentage of shares on the way down and then sit and wait for them to recover, they balance the other shares I have and which I buy at various other times a lot depending on the individual Companies financial Calendar, and World events that to be honest change every day. I only look at this as a hobby as I do not need this as my only source of an income .I suppose buying shares in the actual shorting Companies is something I have not thought of before, as it must be more secure than the shorting itself. i.e. Using the shorter's to make money for me? Thanks for helping me work this out in my own mind.

Stock you always look for an angle and when doing this you have to assess what is said. They said KD had not resigned which he hadn't. He infact did so after I had spoken with Aca. They had said nothing wrong. He had his reasons for delaying his decision -we will never find out why. Aca said they had not been presented with any further pollution losses since 2013 which were settled. I did not refer to Barrick and I cannot see they have either?
For shorters up to you, I will try and balance the discussion. In the long run I see upside and see the current Chair as having good Banking/invest, experience who will do well if she can turn things around-which she knows.

Stock I only obtain information via the official routes, I am not into insider dealing if that is what you are moving towards. However even when using the official routes it pays to write things a certain way as a polite request. I as you are aware have retired early after serving the London Market for 37 years, and so I suppose all of us learn how to request the information we are looking for over a long period of time. Suggest if you want more information from the Company, and you have not had want you want, it might pay to address your concerns in a different way? I do not have any problem obtaining information from this Company, or any other to be honest I am interested in. I actually enjoy my back ground research and look upon this whole thing as a hobby to try and keep my mind active,. Best of luck in trying a different approach - it works for me.

Ben when I spoke with the Company earlier in the week I was told they had literally no knowledge of any claim against them from any environmental claim since the rainy season floods of 2013 which were all settled. They were going to seek clarification of the press statements which they felt were very old news. The Board was considering a share buy back. I was hoping for something urgent being released but perhaps we will have to wait longer, frustrating I know. but for the Management remember this is looked upon as the African arm of the biggest Gold miner in the World and under the ABX umbrella. I still have faith and will behold my position and am glad the fall in price turned today -so someone is buying. I am afraid this site is used by Shorters and so I hope you actually still hold your shares, although you did not say.

Could this not be the Shorters entering the trade from the Institutions after close - so that their buy is disguised?

I just wish and hope the current vein they are mining they break though and find as expected better quality ore the other side. This was reported to provide an uplift towards the end of the year and so the Board were confident to keep their projections as reported earlier.

Wonder if the institutional investors are starting to come back following the recent Egypt site visit. If so this is good news as I was understood to believe that once the current vein of rock was mined through the quality of the next would be a lot better and so targets will be better for later in the year.

My contact is very reliable and I understand this matter is indeed being discussed at a senior level. TT you can always write an e'mail to the Company and suggest this too in support and you never know you might actually get a positive reply like I have done.
I agree with BB that looking at the low volumes that influence the price it would not take a lot of cash from the Company to stabilise this share and you never know they could always issue them back when the result of the discussion's is known as we all expect those results to be positive.
The reports on the Water pollution appear to date back to 2013 so a lot is said hereon that is rubbish, but I will only ever report what I know to be from a reliable source. .

They have free generating cash from operations, they have recently sold a percentage and have an income from a shared mine. They are also paid for exploration in other African Countries, they also have access to capital should they need it. Their majority share holder is one of the largest miners in the World.,
The only rumour here is that they have been polluting the rivers and I understand the Ph levels of such are monitored very closely since the Rainy season Floods of 2013. The only sales here are the shorters and those who panic! I said the Company is considering share buy backs. Understand from a Contact familiar with the matter, Acacia have not currently been served with any claim for Water Pollution and are asking the Tans Govt for clarification of the presidents comments, as they believe they are related to the Floods of 2013 which are already settled. They also continue to monitor all PH levels in rivers which are within safety levels.
I also understand the Board are now considering the possibility of share buy backs to stabilise this share that is it seems subject to shorting behaviour. I hope they agree to this and we will have a release soon.

Notice - no announcement from Acacia - so I cannot see this as Life threatening, as if it was serious we should have had a shareholder announcement by now?

I see this as nothing but a Trump effect on equities in the expectation of a commodities slow down however it is really that the Yanks are in fear of the Chinese machine becoming the largest World Economy. Some feel it is already is and the US could isolate itself from the developing markets. The Chinese Domestic economy is still showing strong growth with in fact increasing surplus to the Us. Perhaps instead of imposing sanctions they should become more cost efficient and compete on price? They need to de-value their currency to do this, instead all they are doing is making the situation worse by making their currency more valuable as it is looked upon as a safe haven.
For the Aca water issue I cannot see this as a problem as Gold is a natural product that is already in the soil and for any mistakes of their own operations Acacia will have contract works insurances in place. .

I see no reason for the sudden fall (apart from what we already know the Trump effect. the Shorters and a big nugget find in Australia ) in fact the Company to me is in a far better position now than it was 6mths ago, in that it is generating cash. I agree it could be a good time to top up, certainly not to sell which.is what the shorts want you to do.
I can see this Company being cheap enough now for a take over if Barrick wanted to conclude or sell.
