Appears RBC Capital Markets have said the 1/3'd quarter results were "impressive" and 13% ahead of forecasts, & 20% better than what was anticipated. The 5% increase to full-year guidance was what it called "the cherry on top",

Almost the opposite to CEY what with higher quality grades of Gold and all.

The future is looking good.

Now can we see the Tanz govt. reciprocate with allowing the exports currently banned to help the Company.

When I looked up yesterday over 8 millions shares were traded in total for the day well up on the trading average. The share price was also moving fast upwards too. Someone was buying if you ask me. I looked up the daily chart on Morning star day charts and found the lowest price fir the day was just over £1.38 and I could not see a stand alone 8m share sale affecting the price. I feel this was the overall share dealing number for the day. At the end of the day the total figs are never that accurate as the shares are divi'd up on the account and then are held and shown for the account at the 4.30pm close.

Bloomberg interviews this morning were showing the expectancy by some for the Gold price to rebound based on the last final account and forward looking futures orders. One or two Govts are also going back into Gold. Also many Brokers are now starting to think about using Gold and other commodities to balance their portfolios that have done well with Equities and Gold and miners adds a safety bias. One or two traders were also reporting increased enthusiasm for Miners whose price has suffered recently. So sentiment is returning, plus as volumes are so high in Acacia suspect someone is aware of something going on. Also the take over reports do help. Still a long way to go though for this share. Perhaps even shorter's are having to close now in loss territory? Overall all very positive.

At this shares price the Company is there for the taking, however we are starting to see tremendous interest in the shares and hopefully the next stage will be passing £2,00 a share. If any announcement comes out this thing will fly.

Hi Wise, but do you really think Acacia would shell out £10,20 million to the dependants and in support of the poor victims of the Ferry boat disaster if the times for them in Tanzania were difficult. I doubt it. To me it speaks of a Company starting to have larger amounts of cash available and being in a position to donate generous funds, without lets face it shareholder approval. They must be doing better now and the G.O.T will know that too.
Lets look forward to better times and not dwell on the past. .

I have received another note out today that Blackrock have increased their holdings in Acacia now to be over 6.55%, Morning star was indicating their holding at 4.97%, so they are now increasing their holding. The last timer they did that we had a good announcement shortly after from the Company - & so I expect good news very soon.

If we add into the equation the fact Acacia can give £10m away for good causes in Tanz, this shows the Company is back on track if you ask me, and able to afford such a donation. Good times are returning and I also feel the Gold price will come back (as do many others). In fact even my Father has said the which money guide is suggesting buying Gold.

I received a note today regarding the support Acacia have given the Taz govt and a charitable donation for the good cause following the Ferry disaster on Lake Victoria.

I see this as a sign of the local Management who are now Tanz Nationals doing the right thing for their people and this must now show the GOT how the hand has been put out to improve and help the relationship the Company has.

I feel something will come soon and that business is improving in everyone's interest. .

Historically Barrick owned African Barrick Gold and spun her off into Acacia for their African ops. To be honest I wanted to give the new Acacia Management a chance but the Tanzanian govt known as G.O.T will not speak to Acacia senior Management in London and the president will only deal through JT. Enough though Acacia formerly have to approve any deal it is to satisfy the LSE requirements and is a formality. Therefore if you read between the lines everything JT does is for the benefit of the Tans GOT. i..e They wanted experienced African Management (Rangold) they wanted Chinese investment -just sorted by Barrick. They wanted $300m and so what has happened JT has just done an exchange deal for $300m with the Chinese? Co-incidence or what? Also framework in place and hopefuly very shortly approved.

Stock, what you have said below I already know from my own conversations with Acacia. I communicated two to three weeks ago with Acacia and they came back to me to say they needed clarification, they also did confirm to me that they did not know of what JT had said. The Chinese deal was concluded and announced as with Barrick only. The same was said with Rangold. For me this is therefore not new news.
Acacia are seeking clarification and cannot advise the market until the situation is made clear. However we know the Tanz Govt have already agreed a Framework with JT and he will be aware of what they have confidentially discussed. He would not have agreed anything that will affect the Framework in fact from what we already know he is helping the framework by helping the Tanz Govts needs and requests.

I cannot read all of the article Stock as not a subscriber to the paper who want to raise money for doing so, I also cannot find this news anywhere else to confirm but suspect old news and sensationalism to gain readers..

The President of Tanz did say there was a Tax Amnesty which will help us and the Govt. have said this to encourage investment and so we cannot be far away now what with all the fast official news that has been printed.

All aware of Aca position that if their own management in the UK are not talking directly with the GOT then they will never be in the position that Barrick are in. So as Barrick are the largest shareholders they will be making sure that their assets in Tanz and other African Countries are looked after, hence the takeover/merger with Rangold.

Doesn't worry me, I expect some profit taking, but it will soon turn back again. Actually look at the prices after close and back up to 1.28 already.
Probably shorter's selling to try and drive the price down so people panic. Think of them as the opposite to when you see a share rising fast, what do you do try and get back in and buy some more? They are the opposite to you and me and so they want the price down as they would have already lost a fortune.

Yes too much positively going on now to sell and I remember buying Thomas Cook a few years ago when feeling there is no way they would go down the pan, and bought into them on the way down. However I needed to sell when my life was turned up side down by my London employer, and would have made a very large sum in profit, so I do not intend to sell Acacia, as to be honest I don't now need to. One of my Pension's where I went against everyone else's vision was where I invested in the Whole World (mostly far East and the States) with only about 1% in the Uk and that has turned up trumps, rising 20% year on year for the past 20 years -shame my fellow Bosses still have to work and cram onto City trains after making me redundant!! - No hard feelings you must understand!!

Then they can buy more at a cheaper price after the shorters have shorted? I think we are in the wrong game. There must come a time when if they buy more after the shorts have shorted and the price goes back up again, if the shorters do not get back in quick enough they will be caught out big time with their trousers down.
B'rock don't lose and they can double count a win. These sort of practices would have been banned in the Insurance World I was in, but I can see how they can become very rich as market manipulators is the wrong word -"Players" perhaps.
Still at the moment for us it is playing in the right direction and makes life interesting for a change. .

Just thought of another scenario. Could Barrick be buying more shares of Acacia to in effect make it an easier transition for them to in effect to take Aca off the FTSE and retire their Management?
Or it could be B/rock increasing their share further so they have a larger influence over a combined entity.
Suppose we will get even more announcements of increasing shareholdings held in the next day or so.
