I would be very, very worried now if I had bet on more of a down turn based on all of the positive news coming out now thick and fast. I have a feeling now like it seems everyone else that this thing is just about to take off, and even before Prince Williams visit due for next week!

I always put Sovereigns and Gold together, and politically it certainly helps that the Bonnie Prince is meeting with the President on his visit to be serious. It shows that relations are improving and we know he will promote out business.
We all see the market is talking. re. the share price recovery and as Tiger has said there are so many "deal" requirements being reported as met. it will not be long now before an official announcement is now made. It looks as if investors are moving in and I can see this sentiment continuing to accelerate politically before the Princes visit, and especially as he is meeting with the President there will not be any bad press from the Govt. if they want to meet him. Where'as we know the Prince is certainly not a short I feel the current shorters are going to have to buy spoon, which will help bring the recovery price back too.

Understand Prince William is visiting Tanzania next week, maybe he can sort this mess out by giving his approval to the deal with his Royal Seal?

Appears things are now moving fast to comply with the Govts wishes of basing the Company in Tansania. It looks as if trust and faith are now returning and I can see an official announcement very soon of an agreement in place between all the parties involved.

I think the market makers are aware of this too and hence the start of a price correction and rise back to reflect the true value of this Company (taking into account the actual total value of the Gold,and other metals it mines).

BB -as we have found the Short trades get put through last thing to somehow disguise them. However we have got to expect them to try and keep the price down if they can. Even if they do we now know it seems that the Chairman of Barrick has been doing business with our Eastern friends and what he has said has caught the markets on the hop. I hope we will get something in support very soon but it may take a few days for Barrick and Acacia to work out what the official statement o shareholder will say. I am sure both Companies compliance and press offices would have preferred more time to edit something as certainly they need to comply with FTSE and NSX rules.

At least we know two things. We are now hopefully off the bottom. The statement from the executive chairman of Barrick must have been correct as otherwise they would have needed to have corrected it by now. Acacia are in a position where we have been at the bottom for so long they will not want to issue a statement to disrupt the recovery. They will only issue a statement whilst a recovery is in progress if it is not true. No doubt if true they will need to ask further questions internally before they can respond to the market and no doubt talk with Barrick beforehand. The longer this drags on the more likely something will have to be formally prepared for Shareholders in my mind.

I know you all think I am mad but the date was 15th August 2016 and the Acacia price was £5.9750, so why not wait for the new Boat and the car!

Franky happy to stick at £2,20 but will sell at £7.00. Once Brexit bites and the Chinese raise the stakes with the US, Gold will become a safer haven again. I am happy if Barrick sell 50% of their share which will mean they will hold 32% each and we will still hold the larger majority in London. However as Barrick and the Chinese will have the larger overall share perhaps they can therefore unplug the hold ups.
I always bought this share for the longer term whatever happens, and Miners are starting to come back in fashion.

Hi TT, yes good thought process and to be honest the Acacia mines in 2017 were winding down due to the govt intervention on holding the composites. So they switched over to ore, and did not produce towards the end of 2017 anything like what they could have done.
I think the press statement/interview with Mr Thornton has caught both Barrick and Acacia on the hop. However without any denial something is definitely in it. Also Bloomberg who published the report are usually very accurate.

Up 12% -quite happy. Looks like there must be something in the rumour to be honest.
I think the shorters will have to steam in soon and the price will rocket. If they sell now they will be really stupid. Without any release from Aca you do feel something is coming.

BB-Or could be Barrick have not yet told Aca :-.
The release is prior to Aca agreement.
Aca now need clarification to issue a LSE statement to shareholders.
Barrick have prejudiced Aca small shareholders who have a right of claim to recover their shareholder shares price paid.
either way we win now.

If any truth is in the (press release/comment ) and a major interest is declared in the shares let us not forget shareholders and Acacia need to be aware of the stock market rules. Once the official LSE release is made this will benefit Acacia Shareholders.

For Barrick/Chinese shares let us not forget they already have partnerships in place in various mines including those in South America. I do not see Barrick selling all of their shares, more like they will both want to buy up the outstanding minority they do not hold i.e. The Acacia shares we hold. This should help support a rise in price.

Suppose if deal done the Shorter's are going to have to rush in and buy the shares they have already sold and so this share rise could gain momentum.

Stock yes agree appears to be very good news but I have a feeling as Mr Thornton was representing Acacia at the talks he/Barrick will find it very difficult to cherry pick the Copper mine for themselves. I am sure if it was discussed under the business of Acacia the Acacia shareholders will have something to say about being involved in the Copper mine too.

Perhaps the end is in sight for the share falls and we can see some rises today?

Were they stocking up for the weekend, or just very thirsty for a bargain? This could be someone from over the pond? We know Warren Buffet likes our Tomato soup, beans and Cadbury's Chocolate, maybe he likes our Beer too? Who knows it could be an interesting week next week.

Could be good for Aggreko if their generators can be used in S/Carolina.
