Of course not much of a list but GS had no choice but to publish something! guess we will all be taking holidays in St Helana or the Falkland islands to watch penguins....;)
On a more +ve note, one thing to remember is that this list is reviewed every 3 weeks and world is vaccinating as fast as possible so real SP take off will most likely happen after the half term break....and when USA gets on the list...
Add to the fact that IAG has cut cash burn significantly, it won't take a lot of pax to get IAG back into black as they will be able to charge a premium for the first holidays!!!
Glad it closed blue. may drop on Monday but will bounce back soon enough as 3 weeks is not long to wait!
@Skindle I'm surprised that you would get so easily upset over a term that was neither directed at you nor personal to anyone in particular - unless of course you thought I was referring to you, in which case I apologies.
You will of course remember that you have sold all your shares @ "216.7p ". Maybe my post upset you for other reasons than a mild 'vulgar' term? I did not call you an Id1ot like some have on here...
My opinion is just that opinion and i am honest about my failings and predictions. I share opinion not to upset people but to share my thought process and if others what to tell me why i am wrong I will gladly listen and debate rationally without offence taken and I hope none given. I'm interested in why I might be wrong so I can learn to be a better trader both short and long term. I never encourage anyone to buy or sell and make clear why I think what I think. If you don't like my opinion, fair enough feel free to filter me. I prefer to play the ball not the man.
I haven't posted in a couple of weeks but like TP, I jump in and out lots. I am currently in with all my chips and above my BEP/average so could jump out at a profit before Friday...
But even if Sp falls Friday it will climb back up - that is just a question of time and time is only relevant if you have to/ want to sell.
The Dick swinging competition is amusing, and I know of at least 20 current/retired BA capts post on here and 99% of them must be laughing at these posts. ...But the dick swinging is another indication of how desperate people want this (and other airline) Shares to rise.
Counting clouds is futile just like counting aircraft is, as no one knows how many passengers are on each aircraft or indeed what price they paid for each ticket...
I posted a few weeks ago that the SP would be around 220 around this time. It is not, so I got it wrong. But that is not a big deal to me as I am a sizeable LTH and I'm pretty sure other LTH will feel the same.
There have been many pieces of good news over the last month but little has moved this SP up which I interpret as meaning this share needs something tangible to climb and I don't think the list of countries in the green traffic light bracket will do it, however many countries are in that list, unless it includes the USA. And only the opening of the transatlantic routes will do it now IMHO oh and I think the SP is already reflecting what the market is anticipating in terms of IAG losses....so unless the are greater than before I expect the SP to stay the same or rise a little as the Share will have been 'de-rsiked'- a little. But i've got it wrong before and this is just an opinion amongst many...
I think the point that has not been fully appreciated is that before 17th May the countries in the 'green' list will be published. This is likely to be a small number of destinations BUT that is likely to be revised every 14 days and the list updated accordingly. In all likely hood that list will grow and vaccines around the world take effect and the SP will rise as a result. So I expect an announcement along those lines to be made within the next 14 days at most and that will inevitably push the SP up... So i'm holding and no longer day trading.
RE: Rich holiday makers to make up for fall in Business class flying27 Apr 2021 08:39
@DB9. I'm no guru and have no special skills, just logical. It seems to me that this SP lags the news by about 24hrs and maybe that is a function of this SP being sentiment based(at the moment!) but i think once the figures for the wealthy taking holidays in business comes in I think this will rise substantially. My expectation is that many of them will opt for USA/Caribbean and that will move the SP up once announced. Interim, it's bloody slow going up despite the continued nuggets of good news. ...
Minesh, nobody puts their real name oh here;-) hows the flying going? Up of course, all week as per my previous posts this will finish around 2.20 mark unless indian variant takes hold in europe and/or USA... good luck and all IMHO
RE: Covid passports before 17th May...22 Apr 2021 07:38
@SunDezer eventually I'm sure we will. It is just a matter of time and being patient... I know many on here have said they'll bail at 220, some at 250 etc. Whatever your exit point, it will come if you wait long enough... Many wise owls on here have reinforced the mantra of 'patience' and they are right...so i'm happy to wait and dabble day trade if I can...no stress
Agree with you but what it does do is signal the possibility of a full return to 'business as usual'...If IAG can get the all important transatlantic route back up and running then this SP will rise significantly, but doubtful it will rise like a rocket!
I posted a few days ago that this would go red on Monday, instead it went red Tuesday... i also posted that all bets were off depending on Indian variant and that is what sent the markets into a spin yesterday....maybe more today depending on the news releases. This From Al Akbar Al Baker did not help, but I think it was useful as a shot across the IAG bows, get their act together. https://simpleflying.com/qatar-airways-ceo-ba/ I think that since there is little more bad news out there as the last 4 postings have covered everything except a direct meteorite strike destroying planet earth, this should recover well next week.... just my HO of course GLA
