I'm not going to be in your league Slippery but I'm up for the ride. I start with MTL a little (well a lot) disappointed, not by MTL but by our CNR management's failure to achieve what I hoped for. However I like what I see at MTL, so here goes.

Tomamara, I can't see MC getting his bonus because the CVR quite clearly states it may not payout in full. If he does, I would suggest this is questionable and potentially fraudulent and I'd complain to the regulator for sure.

Also recognise that is their is an artisanal miners issues, MTL know how to deal with it. Very smart CEO.

The issue for many CNR shareholders, rightly or wrongly is we have in effect been lead up the garden path in terms of our valuation expectations. Now we only have ourselves to blame for believing the overblown value we wanted. Mark Child has been disingenuous to say the least and essentially talked a load of cr@p, unless of course he believed his own words.

Anyway, regardless of that, I've only just started to look seriously at MTL and I like it. As many have pointed out, it is a company that is doing rather than talking. Just a bit upset that cretin Mellon is still involved, albeit at a lower holding level.

Many thoughts are going through my head but wouldn’t it be interesting if MTL sold the asset to Calibre in order to fund their other projects (after a sudden change of heart). Anything goes with these sharks.

That's what I'd do.

What ought to be interesting though EL is that we have an army of quite intelligent and reasoned contributors over at CNR. Once we've all calmed down and got used to the idea of being part of MTL I reckon we should have some really useful input here collectively. The members here seem better than the average lot we find on the bulletin boards. :-)

I have to say it is very questionable. Something, somewhere is not right. Did Melon just become bored and decide to move on, there is more to this than meets the eye. That said, MTL don't look so bad and will we find MTL partnering with Calibre or Mako or AN Other, something CNR should have done long ago. Questions, questions.

I don't actually think MTL are so bad, I just feel shafted by this particular deal. It is the CVR that grates with me. If it had been a real 44p eq, it would not have been so bad.

Legally speaking, I'm curious about how the law would look at them voting against an offer that was significantly higher and in the interests (notionally) of all shareholders. Interesting times.

I'm very unhappy about this deal speaking solely as a CNR shareholder. However, looking in a broader sense at our prospective acquirer, you look pretty good to me, I certainly will feel less like I'm going to lose everything tomorrow.

Just one final point, irrespective of the undertakings, a much higher offer would be voted through by the rets of the shareholders, in that sense Melon wouldn't matter.

This is a deal on the table.

However if a decent higher alternative offer comes in, the almost 30% that are contractually bound to vote against that higher offer doesn't matter. We will take the higher price.

So it isn't over until it's over.

I know but it just shows how volatile it is, usually buying big numbers in CNR is easy.

Interestingly there is a rise in the MTL sp, is this a recognition of the potential it has with CNR or is it orchestrated to make the prospective terms of the current CNR deal look better.
