Likewise, been in CNR since 2009 ish, just looked at an old printout of my portfolio displaying a 1974% increase in CNR share price dated 31/12/2010. Be nice for that to happen again, this time I'd sell out though :-)

As a former longsuffering CNR shareholder, I am now in profit. It is a really unusual feeling to look at the La India asset doing what we all knew it could do (at least the start of it anyway). I feel like a Deer in the headlights, it's weird to see things in blue after so long.

We may even take another bit of a hit as gold price under pressure due to positive trade talk outcomes. It's never a one way street on price, it is and should be incremental.

We actually did very well out of AGQ at the time, however we left a significant additional 'profit' to ride and lost it all. We even attempted very early stage litigation but the billion dollar owners shut us up really fast, unfortunately the monied can generally silence the wronged without enough to fight.

I had concerns that CNR might have gone down a similar path but actually at the moment I am content with what has happened. Mark Child was far smarter than Jim Williams.

Anyway all that is ancient history now.

The only thing that 'proves' buying or selling is trend. If it goes up it is buying, if it goes down it is selling. Manipulation of the trend in is possible but highly unlikely. The rest is just speculation, even the buy/sell guidance is just that, guidance.

For the record WorryB, I'm 100% Team MTL, on balance I think it was, with the benefit of hindsight, a really smart move for a failing CNR and the only choice, however I did want to correct some of the past misinformation.

Thanks Slippery, I have talked to him over the same timeframe. As regards the Mill, it wasn’t an all cash deal anyway, so the cost wasn’t so much. Mark was hedging his bets but he never wanted to take this to production, regardless of what some may have believed.

Actually, selling CNR was always part of the plan, you probably wont believe me but I spoke personally with with Mark on many occasions over the years, he always indicated to me that selling was preferable to producing, he never actually said anything different. Production was only ever if we were forced into it. The official announcements were always released in such a way that we intended to produce, it made us look more serious for funding purposes. Disingenuous but not dishonest!

For various reasons we didn't get an outcome that was financially the best, however, I do not think the MTL (longer term) is a bad outcome.

We must not forget that our profits will be repatriated into GBP as a UK listed company and that is now around £2350/oz.

Not in GBP (yet) in which our profits are ultimately converted.
