There is no reason for them not to be entirely honest. They have significant holdings but are locked in. Ruin their credibility now with hype and any bubble will long have since burst before they can profit from it. Their positivity seems to be based entirely on the progress they are making. Next week we, and perhaps more importantly the rest of the market, will start to see why.

Did you mention that they anticipate that the new mains power will be connected by the end of next week ?

Thank you Saint-Tropez; I actually listed to that one again yesterday and agree it contained loads of golden nuggets of information. He sounded, as the whole management team always do, fantastically positive about progress and I can't wait for a further update tomorrow.

It might be being greedy but I would also love to see a nice RNS update in the morning to give them something really solid to talk about. Without formal news it is hard to think of the information they could give us in the interview which isn't already known but which isn't considered price sensitive. As I say I know that is being greedy because they have clearly made extortionary progress already and great share price success appears to be a matter of time only.

The share price looks to have taken a deep breath like the rest of us in anticipation of these upcoming interviews and the highly probable substantive updates.

Twitter advises the target site was 90 mins ish drive from Kahama; might get a map out and a pair of compasses to narrow down the target area !

The last page of this Barrick Gold presentation has a handy map of the area; but where have the G-Cats gone ? The town of Kahama mentioned in one tweet is just to North West of the golden star indicating the (closed/closing) opencast mine of Buzwagi.

It would not be hard to argue that Shanta, at the moment, derives the bulk of their value from Tanzanian operations and assets though.

Caracal therefore seems to be of great importance to the Kenyan mining sector and so, I hope, it will receive the support it will need in the coming months and years from the authorities. The local listing should make big headlines and almost guarantee future political support.

How badly do people think the price is suffering / going to suffer due to the Kenya location as opposed to say Tanzania?

Red Rock’s Kenyan project certainly doesn’t seem to be adding a great deal to their share price.

It seems things are now relatively positive for miners but that was not the case until recently and I can imagine a lot of people are yet to be convinced; the success of Caracal could be a real turning point in sentiment. Additionally, a second project in a different jurisdiction might help drag the price up significantly.

In the stock box interview a current plant processing rate of 650 tonnes a day was stated. A recovery rate of 1.4g of gold per tonne would put them at their December target of 1000oz/per month already. Great work.

The July prospectus stated that a 70% interest in this 3000 km2 exploitation project in the Congo was being purchased together with Kilimapesa. Did this happen and if so does anyone know what has happened to it ? It never seems to be mentioned.

I wonder if anyone could clarify this for me.

This company struck the deal with Goldplat for the mine and then sold on to Caracal (nee Papillion). They now hold a 3.7% holding and by recent twitter posts represent a rival bidder for further gold assets in the region. Is this close ?

I will apologise in advance for being particularly dense but can't a single trade be both an old Papillion holder 'crystallising their position' and a new institutional investor 'piling in'. Call it a buy or a sell the shares changed hands and all the while the Caracal express is getting steam up ready to leave the station (destination unknown).

BXP completed the acquisition of 55% of Sanofi Bangladesh this week and the price over in Dhaka has almost recovered to the peak of around 10 days ago.

There has also been a small currency movement I think which makes the current price in Bangladesh equivalent to around 211p. We continue to sit at 95.5p or 45%.

The results are around a month away and I just hope that triggers a wider realisation of the discrepancy here.

In April two brokers published notes.

Tennyson gave a risked valuation of 8p a share. This was assuming $60 a barrel and a requirement to raise additional $30-40million to develop. Unrisked was 12.6p.

Optiva suggested 12.1p unrisked and gave 6p as a conservative current valuation per share (their words). I think, looking at their earlier note, they used $55 a barrel.

I am certainly not able to calculate this myself but it seems that the professionals appear to support 9p or even a touch higher.

Now trading at around 45% of the parent price. If you argue that the Dhaka price has gone a bit mad and say knock 20% off it, then the equivalence is still under 60% here.

Indian pharma companies Cipla (which I acknowledge is far larger than BXP) and Nectar Lifesciences both list a GDR in Luxembourg and they trade at parity to the parent share price.
