It seems pretty obvious to me; 'the drill' is going ahead of schedule and they are pulling out cores containing huge gold nuggets and they wouldn't be able to keep a straight face in an interview.

It was an excellent presentation on Friday.

Sunday morning seems an appropriate time to consider the holy trinity (of upcoming Gcat news):-

- Acquisition confirmation and details (multiple!);
- Nairobi listing (first such company to ever do so);
- Production update (1,000oz p/m rate by end of December anticipated).

These three should prove very good for the soul; just need a bit more faith until they show themselves to us, like a burning bush, and when they do - water to wine !

- Sounded extremely confident.
- They are in advanced stages with multiple acquisitions.

Well I’ve set my alarm early this morning:-

- will we get a substantive acquisition update ?
- will anyone care; volume yesterday well under £50k ?

‘Most important drill’ can I add ‘so far’ ? The licence areas are vast.

So are we definitely expecting an RNS at some point before close tomorrow?

I was but now I’m not so sure.

I think if it wasn’t for a possible covid related bounce (both in actual income and sector sentiment), see today’s RNS as a very small example of that, I’d be more inclined to agree with you.

The domestic market certainly appears very volatile but it did bounce back up around 7% yesterday.

I would only add that at this level hopefully a raise is somewhat priced in.

A substantive acquisition update now seems nailed on for this week to me. But with no real previous guidance of how big it might be or how it might be funded I am more than a little nervous (but also rather excited!)

Just been delayed by two days - waiting for news which was expected today/tomorrow morning ?

The kit which will be able to go deeper than the current 760ish m is still off getting new batteries fitted in SA.

What I heard (but I may well have been mistaken); 'the hole' is today at 170m after some slow going in the crumbly top layer. They are currently going at around 30 m a day and hope to speed up once they hit solid rock with the Karoo expected at around 480m. So we should therefore be around 10 days from the Karoo at current speed. The speed after that point was expressed to be likely quicker but no numbers were given. Christmas holidays start on 18 December .

So Karoo hit around 8/9 December (all being well) then we have around 9 days of further drilling before the break. In the last presentation the B1 conductor target depth was given at around 550m. I think this means the first cores from the conductor should be appearing around 12 December. They then need to find somewhere to hide them until Christmas.

More exciting tweets today showing the two drill rigs getting ready to start drilling. When they tweeted last week about recruiting for a few exploration interns I was sorely tempted to apply, the countryside and weather look fantastic.

The best part about this drilling campaign from my point of view is that it is just proving up what is known. Artisanal working exist all over their licences so they know there is definitely gold there.

And; all the while the processing plant is minding its own business producing hundreds of oz of gold.
