How can more data be as exciting as massive lumps of gold ?

If you were in the ‘there is definitely something great there’ camp then this is disappointing because we now have to wait for confirmation until January.

If you were less convinced then this is perhaps much better news because of the new data.

I’m in the disappointed category but delays will happen I suppose and the new data certainly makes it seem that success is inevitable.

In respect of core samples being sent to labs; I have always found there to be a certain lack of transparency from Ben on that point in interviews. My own interpretation was that basically they knew they had good stuff but didn’t want to tell the world until they’d locked up various other licences and deals (which they have now done) so didn’t send them away. I suppose it could easily be the opposite.

As far as I am aware no core has yet been formally assayed but that hasn’t stopped news release which is why I remain hopeful of news of the current hole before Christmas ie. not having to wait for assay results.

There is a fair bit of good news to come and we know Jason isn’t shy with his little trumpet so fingers crossed we get a good bounce now trading is up.

I agree for a number of reasons but primarily because junior gold exploration companies don’t, as a rule, already own and operate profitable gold mines.

I’m looking forward to some more trench sampling results, the grades of some last time were great, it is going to be very interesting to see how many Jorc oz they can get to. 1.6 million at the moment is not a bad place to start from though. They seem fairly shallow as well and as has been pointed out the two Tanzanian assets are close enough together to only need one plant.

They’ve targeted 2 million in Kenya which is starting to look a bit low to me given the large exploration licence and two drill rigs going at it. Then there’s an easy 400,000 to follow in Tanzania before they even start exploration over there.

Over 22 million today - business is picking up. Very good news if you ask me.

As an aside, no company tweet today. I seem to remember that the last time we had a no tweet day we had news fairly soon there after. Reasons to be cheerful.

London Stock Exchange website reporting 16,640,000 today which is dramatic increase on the last few days and perhaps all the more impressive on a very quiet no news day.

My view is that given a market makers job is to make a market in such quiet times they are forced to drop the price in order to increase volume. They have done so and it has worked, or it certainly seems to have. Short term this might look a little worrying but building back volume and interest must surely lead to price creeping back up organically (or jumping back up on good news).

Gold price holding steady around the $1,800 oz mark.

Do people think a core photo on Twitter is a possibility or is an RNS more likely given the significance of the drill ?

You wouldn’t be the only one looking at today’s volume.

I’ve not seen confirmation either which is odd and everything else gets a tweet. Christmas holidays will begin soon I’d have thought so perhaps they will not attempt anything meaningful until after the break.

In a recent tweeted picture there is a sign at the perimeter of the area around the rig which says ‘drilling in progress’; so at least we know they are not waiting for the signage although at the moment it may not be entirely accurate.
