I did try to skim back, but was there any discussion on the last RNS regarding their PREVENT offering. I thought that was a very odd RNS, I've not seen anyone put their friends up to writing postive reviews of their products for an RNS before. Did anyone else feel funny about that? I fear I've jinxed the price here, I entered a small long position around 370 early in the week and that seems to have prevented any movement to the upside.

What's lvl Quest? Are you talking about the 12% yield on the bonds? That looks like a weakness, but one that we can currently cope with?

Share buy back, would be great, divi would be great, entry into FTSE 250/350 would be great. AB buying more would be great. Pickup in Oil demand would be great. Drop in oil supply would be great.

If AB sold shares, that would scare me.

Saw that Onedb, you just have go back through the chart and see how many have not filled to get a feel for where price will go. Just not so easy to get a feel for when it'll go there.

Why not KO, you've just been very successful. You've used a reasonably big pot of money to leverage a reasonably small percentage gain. If you were able to predict SP movements on a regular basis and not too stressy, you wouldn't have to wait years for you next profit of 50 grand. You simply have to make a successful decision on the direction of your horse. You've just done it on ENQ and can now take back what you sold and go out for a slap up meal on your profits (anywhere in the world, even on a private jet). Do it regularly and you're a wealthy man. What you've done up until now is put all of your faith into a share that hasn't given you what you hoped for and you're frustrated, like a bad marriage!

I agree with that KO, the current government have done what Tony Blair's government did but from the other side, they've moved to centre and over time it may very well prove popular. Tony Blair is the most successful labour leader of contemporary times and the most successful (barring potentially Margaret Thatcher) in the post war era or even ever. You don't have to like these people to see that. They became successful, by doing what was required to become successful, not what was required to stick to the dogma of party principles. Funny word that when having the ability to shift 'principles' is what makes a person either successful or not in politics. Take Robin Cook, he fell on his own sword over Iraq, because he had strongly held views. He impressed me at the time, but he didn't do himself any good. To be successful, you have to do what is need to be successful and not care too much about those that demonstrate against your measures. We'll see for Fish and 'unt, but if they're on the right part of the dark trio of personality traits then they'll form a successful and lasting franchis. I've been hit by this so have a vested interest in being angry. But I'm not really, they've stolen Labour's thunder, it's almost certainly finished for the raid on the NS resources, we're moving towards the endgame in my view for the slow times for ENQ.

Our new taxaton policies might actually make it a lot less of an attractive possibility in my view. I'd have thought that possibility has taken a step back for the moment.

Completely agree AIM, I'd prefer to have got bigger profits sooner, but I haven't, I'll have to wait, but my view hasn't been changed that this has become a relatively safe investment, just not a fast runner. We'll get there and I still think that at a certain point and I have no idea when as I keep thinking we're close and we get beaten up, the price will rise and it could happen reasonably quickly. I remain sanguine. Ooooh, there's a big word for a Friday morning.

Instead of being angry, think about what you're doing KO. At 40, you felt ENQ was undervalued and sold nothing (to the best of my knowledge) at 26/27 you became frightened of the EPL at 35%. You've been holding for an extended period of time, during which the company's prospects have improved immeasurably and now you're afraid again. That seems somehow incongruous. If it was undervalued at 40p, now has substantially lower debt, but has been hit with a 35% tax on profits (that it can partically offset), why is it not good value at 23p? Also, you did well by selling at 26/27 and booking 50-60,000 profit according to what you told us. You have actually done the right thing by selling and should you believe it's a sensible investment you can buy more than what you sold or get back what you sold for 20% or so lower cost. Instead of sitting there getting angry about what you can't control, why not just accept it and exploit it like you did with your 26/27 sell?

We hit 24.5 quickly on open, it's a potential support, but it looks likely to me that price will now seek out 23.9/24 (that's a rising TL support) and possibly 22.5 (a rising support that forms part of band of potential support related to the first one). If those fail, we're looking at 21.25-21.6 or then 20. I'll have powder available at every stop.

Just a heads up that HUR have put out an RNS clarifying their view of the EPL extension. It's a tentative forward looking view of their current understanding.

Jan, agree completely. I'd actually pushed the FTSE 250/350 entry to one side, but you're right that at these kind of oil prices we're moving the right direction. We have cleared an awful lot of debt, these tax rises would have hurt us a lot more if they'd happened a year or two earlier. Maybe I'm just being glass half full, but I remain positive. I also think that when the SP moves to the upside it'll happend reasonably quickly.

Might not be what you hoped for KO, but you said your average entry was around 21. You must have got 26 or more so you've cleared 50 grand profit, it doesn't seem to be the end of the world, just not as much as you'd hoped for. You should have sold at 40!

If China changed it's policy on COVID related lockdowns, demand could rise quite quickly and put pressure on supply. We're also heading into winter and some european countries are seriously preparing for power outages. A cold snap could also raise demand. There are upside risks out there for the price. Like everything else though, we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out. Extending the tax to 35% is no help to us, but we'll deal with it. Maybe it will force us to diversify away from the UK also. I still think the future is bright. For the moment our SP performance is pedestrian, but I think it'll pick up.

Well one of my limits has triggered, the other is likely too and I've been buying. I think I have a large proportion of what you sold KO, although I paid less than you got. I will continue to buying whenever I think there's a sensible reason. In my view, it's worth considering the possibility that there'll be a good rise before June next year. There is very often a good opportunity in the first half. The old addage sell in May ...... fits with my accounts quite well and (in fact for the first time), I've decided to formally attempt to exploit that. Obviously that almost certainly means next year will be an exception. Fingers crossed you can have the shares back KO at about 35-40p before June. Just think about it as if you've pawned them, rather than lost them.

Seemed to be some buying into the close today. We get the budget tomorrow, but am I right to say the ops update is a week or away? Sorry, I did try to skim back as I know this has been covered. If the buying into close was not related to the ops update, does that suggest someone has a view that tomorrows annoucements from the Chancellor are expected to be reasonably benign for us? Pure speculation, but why not. I guess only time will tell, but if any of you know anything, I'd be happy to read it.

This is looking interesting now. From my experience of similar TA set-ups, then somewhere between here and around 92p might represent a speculative buy. I'm waiting for a 'buy signal' though first.
