Milestones: in the 1.5 to 1.8 days I think I worked out 3.34p was a magic number for me; something like 5.7p would clear all my debts just courtesy of my GGP holding; and anything north of 18p would sort me and the next generation just from GGP.

All moderated by half my GGP holding being untradeable at the mo courtesy of SVS still being closed down.

You appear to post some sensible stuff - up until I read this:

Does "had to" mean you had to pay the rent/mortgage, heating or buy food - or were baliffs at your door with court papers related to a debt.... In which case you are gambling with money you can't afford to lose.

You then also appear to have 160 odd posts during the last 30 days on the GGP board.

Tell me you bought back in during January? Which would make your need to sell before Christmas even more inexplicable - or maybe slightly more understandable if you had multiple share holdings seemingly going nowhere and just plumped for the wrong one to sell.

Or are you now posting multiple times per day on a share you do not hold - very odd behaviour but I've seen it on other boards from folks whose motives are questionable.

Although I have a sneaky suspicion my GGP research prior to buying was triggered by such cross contamination.

Thinking lack of new drill locations today is possibly related to using their six rigs on a night shift only - avoiding day time heat. I also wonder if they are reusing lots of drill locations in the NW to fan out downwards from the single surface drill pad trying to get infill results?

To date have we ever had results back from two different cores using the same starting point?

Corebox of other projects showed it to be common for five or six cores being obtained from each drill location. Wonder if this technique that produces plot lines that look like a millipede is for when you are on top of an outcrop that is easy to follow and drill along.

Shall muse on all these thoughts patiently.

Sentinel Hub has just released today's image and the pesky fluffy clouds are south of HAV. So a perfectly clear view of our hole-y bit of the Outback revealing hee-haw new drill locations as far as I can tell - small screen, trying to board a plane, cup of tea in one hand.

Others may have time to play that classic Spot-the-Difference game....

Forecast for tomorrow has little fluffy clouds and a 40% chance of rain. Let's hope those frothy clouds don't fluff up when the satellite is over HAV.

I propose a toast to all those like me, holding GGP shares with SVS. Still trapped with no trading access.

Pinch of salt on that copper formula folks...... From my reading of the techie blurb it was the formula they used at an instant in time - using spot prices for precious metals. Not necessarily a generic formula to be used on each and every project forevermore.

The spot prices they use are in the footnotes.

The other bits I worry about are the 15m cubic block - the Cadia report for example used 20m blocks. The 2m assumed width when top cutting the highest grades in the results. And all of the words around the geology that make educated guesses about how "same-y" or " vein-y" it is across the blocks and turn them into the millions of ounces of metal for gold, percentages for copper and either pounds (silver) or parts per million (molybdenum) for the various other metals - all then put into the equation to multiply by their relative value.

I wonder if the equation and the sum total of RNS knowledge to date would even get us to a figure with the decimal point in the right place.

This is basically trying to guess the mineral resource we have from the comfort of an armchair rather than in the geology core lab.

Patience for the MRE, ignore all the current froth.

Might start at the Cadia's "Exploration by Others" to read the history of the district. Isn't this what GH did - trawl through the Oz government's historic records to then bag the most likely Paterson tenements? Or was he just lucky?

I get worried reading people on here talking as if Scallywag was a nailed on certainity to be a monster gold find. I'm sure one of the maps has a surface lump feature named "Granite Mountain". There is every chance that strong magnetic / gravity anomalies are due to an underground equivalent granite mountain - with no gold. If every lump of granite was golden then Scotland's west Highlands would be a very wet version of Saudi Arabia and their riches courtesy of oil.

Crikey PG. It'll take me the entire box of Cornflakes to read through that Cadia doc you found during my breakfast. Thankfully it's primarily arithmetic rather than algebra, and my brief detour to suss what a Jameson Cell is has inspired me to use the word "froth" as often as possible in all future GGP posts.

Patience should get me through the weekday nonsense posts that make this board virtually unreadable during market hours. And then there's a new satellite image due mid-week ish for entertainment. I'm still curious if we will see more and more new holes starting over the next couple of weeks; and if we will get up to 10 rigs as mentioned before Christmas. It's still hot as an oven with mid-40s during the day time so it may be they are currently only drilling during the cooler nights with six rigs - which is enough core production to keep the geologists fully occupied in their air conditioned lab on site.

Time for a dumb question. I know nothing about gold exploration and the most diamond drilling I have ever done was a six inch hole through a 12inch concrete slab.

So, is it technically feasible to re-use previously drilled holes to get through the 400m of cover wirhout drilling it again, but then veer off at a different angle once you reach the mineralised rocks to get new cores from nearby adjoining areas?

Or is the voodoo of directional drilling only available to oil producers?

The reasoning behind the question is to work out if we will see a new black dot on the satellite image every time they try and prove a new infill, and how quickly they will get these infill cores into their lab on site for scrutiny.

If you don't have to drill through 400m of a 1000m hole every time that should speed the process.

....just spent a bit more time flicking between previous images and today's. No longer convinced we have new activity around old holes 100m west of the line of 4. There seems to have beene two dark blobs thee for a very long time.

However I am convinced the access track is getting well worn by all the to-ing and fro-ing from site to camp. Have the "ten rigs on site" actually been formally confirmed yet?

From what I can make out squinting at dots on a small screen before breakfast.....

They are back into two old holes west from "the line of 4" in the SW that had the further single step out appear for the first time in the last image. This puts activity another 100m west in this area.

Usual cluster of black blobs and white dots in the NW that, cos of the dark background is hard to distinguish precisely.

Nothing new is leaping out in the east, but I haven't had a cup of tea yet......

What can fresher eyes spot that I have missed? We should be able to work out how many new holes will be reported in our next news release which I'm going to speculate wildly will be mid way between NC's quarterlies.

Pit, hope you took your 20% and ran. I've just reading the RNS with its trading update. Morgan Stanley were obviously wrong in their analysis - we have stumbled into a bit of a first half pit. Cutting 6% of the workforce via compulsory redundancies does not sound like the joys of spring either!

I got thrilled to bits when I spotted a shiny white object at where I thought the middle of Scallywag was a couple of satellite images ago. Luckily I didn't dash here to blurt out my findings. It was a tuft of cloud....

Oooh, very nice PG, and crystal clear weather again. The track from the drilling areas back to the camp looks quite distinctive on this image too, another good sign of a busy site with lots of traffic?
