Is anything happening towards Apollo?
Sntinel's Radar being captured today and should be available tomorrow.

That's what is called a handy gap in the clouds.

Hard to tell if a new field camp has been reinstated at Scallywag or if I am looking at a rectangular cloud.

Can't see any ground activity towards Apollo but still on our side of the boundary.....

Radar may be more revealing on Friday....

Neat and logical explanation as to why that far flung western outlier was drilled at Scallywag. It was a one and only at that location if we discount the activity at the nearby bend in the road.

I think we can add it to a list of holes we know they drilled but are uikely to ever get the drill results.

I think that Artemis info was a bit late at night to be using words like "metalliferous" for a UK audience. Is that even a word? Or are those geologists at it again trying to make themselves sound clever? Does look like it could be useful for a future killer move in Scrabble......

Other than that the neighbour's nearology continues. Nothing new in the info released that I can see. It may be they are trying to boost their share price - didn't it fall when they released photos but no results of their cores in December? It will be curious to see how many holes after Apollo they actually manage to reach. There were multiple sand-dunes to cross which may be a lot of effort to drill just a lump of granite.

I can imagine the drill team were probably going through hell in the heat and dust with improvised facilities drilling their three Nimitz holes and knowing the twinkling lights of nearby HAV camp had all sorts of air conditioned delights. A more substantial camp built by Artemis shows there isn't going to be anything quick about their drill programme even with multiple (two?) drill rigs.

Sentinel is going to be producing almost back to back images cos the day image from the 31st was taking forever to show up, and the next one should be the 5th, then a radar image from the 7th will pop up on the 8th. With clouds possibly obscuring the view we may have to be patient until the 8th.

Yes. I've kept buying. I used to sell up shares when I'd hit my target price and then try and find new investments for the proceeds - and after many years I realised I was turning my performance into certain mediocrity. Changed strategy and ran with the winners, never too shy to invest more, and sold the losers at a loss - all backed up by reading about what the company said they would do, how they'd coped with circumstances changing and their future plans.

Think my lowest GGP price was about 1.6p. Highest was 31p, although the bulk of my investment was made in the sub 10p days. My favourite being a chunky sub 3p top-up during the handy March dip when GH couldn't resist either.

Haven't yet found another share that I like as much as GGP. A sure sign I should get off this BB and spend more time elsewhere.

I've always happily given time and money to charity. I quite fancy being in a position to promise a few deserving causes of my choosing repeat funding in years to come.

I've had a read about the origins of good causes - Peabody Housing, Trussel Trust or even Bill Gates (who is fairly active in persuading other billionaires to do something useful with their gazillions). There's usually one individual at the start of it all who decides to take action. You may prefer some on that list to pay more tax in the first place, or not like the causes or politics.... but.... it's all just life's rich smorgasbord.

My (smaller) pile will be much easier to redistribute - it ain't getting into my grave with me!

It has crossed my mind many times that a "GGP experience" in my 20s would've been nice, but may have led me into thinking they happen all the time. It is just part of my good luck that my largest ever gain has happened at a time in my investment journey of triumphs / disasters when I can take a punt with an enormous sum of money and set me and the next generation up for life in my 50s.

I too find myself in a position of thwarted by Covid. I would've been retired and travelling the world had 2020 not unfolded as it did.

I did my first GGP buy pre Newmomt by a few months, stayed during the dip (GGP filed next to other dog shares that get hauled out if/when I need to plan for CGT). Then we managed to get up to 2.6p one day, and promptly fell back. This board kept me curious - I know hee-haw about mining and this was my first ever gold exploration investment. I used to muse that if predictions for prices were true I'd make my annual salary in one day of SP rise with a holding of millions of shares. My target sell price was 5.7p to be debt free, except I kept on buying, cos this board educated me about the sequence of events to expect - hence my first top slice is still waiting to be triggered.

Now we are in 2021, and thanks to being old(er) and having gone through 30yrs of first investing a day's pay, then a week's pay, then a month's pay and then, decades on, three month's pay as a wild punt.... GGP came along when a wild punt was the size of my annual salary.

Now I get used to the idea of making more than my annual salary with GGP before I even get to my desk on work days! Truely life transforming amounts of (paper) profit that I try my best to ignore.

Planning a gradual exit from work aligned with CV19 developments, mulling over building a house and will ensure the next generation are sorted in terms of being able to buy their own houses rather then paying the landlords' mortgages...... And I'll still have more than enough to fund those travels until my knees are ground down to dust climbing too many mountains.... whereupon I will buy new knees and grind those down to dust too.

The new house will be a bungalow..... No stairs.

No sign of any image today (yet).

The other curiosity about this activity is it is quite far west - a spot north of the old and new HAV field camps. When NC drilled north of HAV before it was seemingly on the geological fault line running north out of the HAV strike - visible in I think Nov 2018 (radar image).

I wonder if their AEM survey results pushed this Apollo target higher up the priority list from what they have seen from HAV magnetic results and the real life findings in the corresponding cores? And they thought they'd speed the process by going to have a look now.

Daily occurrence these big buys. Either multiple 250k buys or big chunks. Someone has lots of big orders to fill which is providing a nice solid floor for the SP.

What a lovely nugget of satellite activity spotted up at Apollo last night. The action must be very fresh - the Sentinel radar image of the 27th Dec shows nothing happening there. It is indeed a great curiosity that they are going there, still within the HAV tenement, unless Artemis have got their GPS co-ordinates in a mess with no-one in the field able to read a screen in 40C+ degree heat, and is actually our Eastern neighbours straying off course - that seems very unlikely.....

Value_seeker spotted that the radar image did show Scallywag action, one spot at a bend in the road, that I thought may be a remobilisation of drill rigs and other kit. Don't know if you can see this on the more recent Planet(?) images?

I already spend too long on this BB so deliberately let my Planet trial session expire and only spend quality time peering at Sentinel images every five days. One is due tomorrow but with a "mostly sunny" forecast today - meaning some clouds - and a "rain later" forecast for tomorrow the satellite image may be 50/50 whether we actually see anything.

Had a quick sweep up to where Antipa's had been drilling on the radar image - no activity up there at Paterson East.

Nice to see you again - and with your eyes peeled.

That is a very distinct dot, although it begins to blur and be a bit fuzzy when you zoom in lots. Wonder if it is the return of multiple (two?) drills and support kit for the next phase of Scallywag drilling by GGP? That would explain the blurriness.

Have you checked out if Antipa's back at Paterson East? I ordinarily would but have to get up very early tomorrow and should be off this BB and in the land of zzzzz by now.

A well deserved break for the drill teams I'd say.....

Next action should be Scallywag RNS - and any news on where the next set of holes are going to be made.

Then all eyes on all the Juri JV areas when all the HAV action starts happening below ground down a decline. I presume they'll RNS Juri when they start exploration? I wonder how many rigs they will start with? It may be more of a "back burner" with an initial focus on HAV and getting some feed ore for Telfer ASAP. This was discussed in a good thread earlier on here and the amount of cover may govern the pecking order of other tenements if they all have decent amounts of commercially viable gold and/or copper. It could all just be lumps of granite....

Antipa and Artemis may also be entertaining. Their January lab results will prove or disprove all of their nearology.

....are across the entire HAV outback on today's satellite - there are reasonable gaps so you can see about 2/3rds of HAV. Hard to tell but I think all the active drill pads have possibly stopped for Christmas.

Back in the groove next year.

Scallywag results?
Let's presume they are doing all cores in one RNS. We noticed the Scallywag camp was gone 1st Nov.
Let's presume the last of the cores arrived at the Perth lab the Friday after on the 6th Nov.
The lab is taking 7 weeks (our neighbours Artemis said this.....) Which would means results from the last of our cores would be delivered 25th Dec - except they wouldn't - no one is working in the lab.
So if we get the final core results between Christmas and New Year (a lot of people won't be working in the lab but enjoying the festive holiday so this may not happen) someone in GGP has to read them, write up onto an RNS, get the nomad approval and then publish. This scrutiny is going to include new boy Shaun Day I presume? Will GGP bother to interrupt their holidays?

No-one from the institutional investor end of the share buying masses is going to notice a holiday season RNS. Private Investors, all bored and stuck at home, will be all over it analysing the position of every comma.

For this reason I reckon for maximum ii impact Scallywag RNS is a candidate for early January.

Since I am a PI I'm secretly begging for it to fill my chocolate munching beer swilling days between Boxing Day and the New Year.

Try and use the Sentinel site to first look at a bit of the world that you know quite well. Choose somewhere that isn't cloudy every day of the week - or choose a time when you know the weather was fairly decent for days - for me that equates to Scotland in May.

Once you work out how to find images, load them zoom in and wander around,. When you know how to use the site to explore go to Telfer Mine. Zoom out and teach yourself how to spot it in the middle of the outback.

I think I linked to both day and radar images recently so click on my user name and find those posts. In a different browser open the day image which will be zoomed in on HAV. Zoom out. Telfer will appear. Zoom back in to HAV and repeat until you've sussed out the features in the desert that help you identify HAV (and Scallywag) (....and good luck with the rest!).

Fresh pairs of eyes are brilliant on this board for spotting activity that is otgeewise very easy to miss.

The radar images are very useful as there is no place to hide and the signals from drill rigs are very distinctive. Sadly they are only published (from sentinel 1) every 12 days.

Thanks Paddy, particularly for the link yesterday to the decline and associated works document. I tried a while ago to register and find stuff on the WA gov mining licencing site - failed miserably.

Did spend a good chunk of time yesterday looking at the info all about the decline planning. Nice to see a skink mentioned, my favourite flavour is of course Cullen.....

And felt major sympathy for the poor sod who had to endure 40 Deg heat mapping unused rodent burrows across several square kilometres of outback.

I was delighted to see the box cut in the south west of the site - I always fancied a cheeky link tunnel in the future through to the deeper bits of Scallywag to help prove up its extent.

I was then trying to work out, after a period of lucrative selective mining, how big a hole would be created on the surface when they start block caving - and if they'd planned to avoid having to move anything.

I would love to see the ponds having to go when the HAV / Scallywag super pits join. Some time in the 2030s for that one.....

I like to think I'll be stood on the rim of that hole thoroughly enjoying the "Greatcrest Gold Mine Operations Tour" alongside a few other pale-skinned Pommies who can only survive the heat knowing what they're looking at funded their retirement one or two decades earlier than originally planned.
