Utilico Insights - Jacqueline Broers assesses why Vietnam could be the darling of Asia for investors. Watch the full video here.
Here we are a month on and the s/p is pretty much as it was.
This is somewhat disappointing.
In its heyday, what Hoover was to vacuum cleaning, Zoom is now generic to online face to face communication.
Bought in during early January 2006, bought again in 2007, sold this new purchase in early 2011 and now sitting on a small raft of shares that cost almost nothing.
Having read every RNS since 2005, am unsure as to what to do now.
Should I trust that the recent RNS has got it right and buy more, or is it best not to mess up a good position?
I feel that there have been lots of false dawns and am now unsure as to what to do now for the best.
Advice, please.
Thanks.
Thanks, Mr. Blackwell, you have given us a down to earth view as to where we are at and what we are aiming for.
If fortune is on our side, this business now has the real possibility of developing into something major.
Today I feel very relieved indeed.
Tomorrow? We will just have to wait and see.
goupplease,
You see a merger or a takeover.
Being realistic, in a takeover situation how much a share do you think we are worth?
Since our only real assets are scientists and the already developed intellectual property it must be very hard to value.
Thanks.
It is interesting how even on Wall Street bad days Zoom manages to hold its price. In the recent mini-bust, I so nearly bought Tesla at $938 but bottled out at the last moment because everyone seems to be making hybrid cars. I think that I need to be a little more courageous!
John James,
There are at the moment about 300 million users and growing.
As to what is the business really worth no one knows.
I bought a little while ago purely on gut instinct, I just 'knew' that it was the zeitgeist.
With so much having now been changed in the world of work and communications, it would not surprise if they soon achieved half a billion users.
I hope that they get bought out for a huge amount of money.
Unless something starts going seriously awry, then I am staying in.
I missed Amazon and all the other unicorns, this one appears to me as being of the same breed.
Best wishes, Sir.
It is excellent news that Jason Lee has been hired by Zoom as Chief Information Security Officer. This should soon put a plug on the naysayers who go on about the lack of security on the Zoom site. The man appears to be well qualified in the matter of computer security.
What I had not realised is that Zoom now has 300 million users.
MD.J.Morgan
You are so right when you say that we need some real experience on the board.
If such a person can be found then perhaps it will attract new investors who will be keen to take out Gooding and any other large stakes overhanging the market.
There again, it all comes down to whether this little business really does have products that the market actually needs and is prepared to pay for.
The actual need is the great unknown, all will be determined by the answer.
Excellent news.
What we have lacked are proper business people to run this outfit.
Even so, the old question remains.
Do we have any products that are actually wanted by by the medical profession?
Sure, we have all sorts of breakthroughs, patents, and so forth, but who today is actually interested in paying us to use them.
Further, having recently lost the chairman and the CEO, please just what is our reputation in the world of pharma and on the stock market?
Somewhat troubling
Yes, saw it live.
Despite the bitter comments here and there, I feel a little bit more positive.
pipedreamer,
I wish I had bought more than I did!
Up about 9% today.
It is odd, you never have enough of the really good ones and always too many of the less successful ones.
GreggsStottie,
You say: "In five years this (NFX) will be a far bigger entity". It is just possible that you could be correct.
I say: "In two years' time, Zoom Video Communications will be gigantic".
It better had be, it is my banker for my mistake in buying NFX.
There again, a double would be nice!
Zoom appears to be the market leader.
Not quite a horse, almost a unicorn.
jay12,
Thank you for all your posts.
At times, you can come across as being somewhat overly optimistic., that is given the latest report and the present share price.
Your optimism may possibly be because you own a few too many shares at what is now an unfortunate price.
Six decades ago it was said that 'people talk their own book'.
I do respect you when following yet another 'puff' you have the grace to write, IMO.
Rather than putting a positive spin on everything and even unfortunate turns of events, please is it possible that at least some of your postings are allowed to be a little bit more balanced.
With many thanks and kind regards,
SD
