Admittedly this will not happen until the final loan details are agreed. However, from the RNS it is clear that this is nearly complete.

Chrisatrdg ref 13.51 post it makes sense if it was not the finance that was causing the drag on the share price. The majority view on this board was that once the finance was sorted and it is about 90% there the share price will start to recover. I was one of the holdouts who thought it might not be the finance. Over the next few months we will I think see if the majority or minority view is right. I have judgement on IM slated for Q2.

Boomtree ref 13.45 post The Rt Hon Lord West of Spithead a former Defence Minister and raised concerns in 2019 that BAB had under quoted the costs of the Type 23 programme by about £100m - 150m. BAB are now in dispute with the MoD over rising costs on the Type 23 programme of £100m. If the MoD adopts a policy of making BAB stick to the contract price the BAB will make a loss on the Type 23 programme. I wonder how many of its other contracts it has bid low on the basis that the MoD will just pay the extra costs? If this dispute is a signal of a long overdue change of policy then we might see more issues with the order book and losses. Do not forget that BAB has just come out of a four year period when it was unable to pay dividends so I am not sure how secure thar market cap is.

Also do not forget the recent defence committee hearing where it was stated that the MoD was looking at having three shipyards. In that case that would put additional pressure on BAB and that market cap.

Wyndrum ref 13.19 post true but when you add the curent dispute wih the MoD in reltion to the Type 31 I would not say that BAB is any safer a bet than HAFRL with regards to longevity..

Clarificaton to my 09.57 post the reference to the Terms of Business Agreement with the MOD that expires next year and whether it will be extended. If it is not then BAB will possibly have a significant drop in income.

Scaffman ref 12.05 post Anyone with even the minmum of knowledge of how much trade goes through the Red Sea would be concerned. There is not only the increased time to go around and miss the area there is as you say the increase in costs. It is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Wyndrum ref 09.24 post the issue I have with BAB is that I believe that over 50% of its income comes from the one client. Therefore if it does not get its Terms of Business Agreement a question arises as to how capable it is of winning contracts under a competitive tender process. The recent FSS tender may not bode well in that respect. BAB was part of Team UK which was found to have made a non compliant bid. It is not clear why. Also it has only just started paying dividends again after what I believe is a four year hiatus so you may have timed your entry well in that respect.

' Harland and Wolff (Arnish) is local so sub contracting sense. I am sure that Stornoway Port Authority would point out the ease of getting fabricated parts from Arnish to the Deepwater Terminal.

Findingtheta ref 10.05 post I do not think that the guarantee or the scheme is project specific so the Capex could relate to something that could be used for IM and other things.

Findingtheta ref 09.23 As I understand the rules the funds provided by the guaranteed can be used for Capex that will devlop the companies ability to export goods. So for instance it could be used for automation to make HARL more competitive when it comes to bidding for contracts. Also in appropriae cases HARL's customers may make use of the Direct Lending Facility run by UKEF. 1 A loan from the National Infrastructure Bank

2 A Joint Venture with other companies

3 Other Government Assistance - I believe that the Northern Ireland Executive may be looking at some form of funding if it can ever get up and running.

LSE03 thanks for your two posts. One interesting thing is they have not said who will be leasing D3. Are the Harbour Commissioners going to be responsible for the day to day running of D3? Logically speaking the options would appear to be Orsted who lease D1 or HARL who I believe are closeby. The other alternative is a J/V between Orsted and HARL. Also I note that the presentation is from the end of November so I wonder what ahs happened since.

Consuela ref 16.45 post I note that 17% rise put HARL in fifth place on the top share risers. This tells me that regardless of the share price a significant number of people were buying HARL shares. This would seem to also imply that a large number of people agree with the view of the majority of people on this board that Friday's nesws was good news.
