The SP may go down as the markets digest the news out of Washingon that the US are imposing Tariffs on Steel from Midnight tonight. The concern would be that this causes a Trade War.

I am trying to work out the effect of consolidating the shares on my shareholding. I have a small holding and after the consoidation I will have less than fifty shares. If the shares are consolidated I presume that the share price will reflect that the shares post consolidation are equal to 1000 shares pre consolidation. So as the current share price is less than a tenth of a penny how much is the likely share price post consolidation?

AusInv - On point one you are assuming that any of the long term investors are planning on realising their investments within the next ten years. My sense, and there is a good chance that I am wrong, is that the majority of long term investors are going to hold for at least ten years. The reason I say this is because having held on to the shares this long they would want to repa the benefits of the dividends being paid. In order to do that they would need to hold the shares for that long.

DGR - I know it is like the Boulby question people still ask it even though the reasoning has not changed.

AusIn - I do not see that the number of shares in issue means that there is any necessity. With the percentage of shares in the hands of private investors who are planning to hold for the long term. That is 5 -10+ years you can probably get the same result to just leave things as they are with out the expense of doing a consolidation.

SuperL - I see your point but I would argue that in the longer term you would in fact benefit from the capex for the expansion to 20mtpa coming from earnings than debt. This is because once the company is debt free it would be able to pay larger dividends than if it has to pay off additional debt.

Hope4 - I am inclined to agree with you. See my posts from this morning. The company PR team have certainly stepped up a gear this month. As I said this morning the last two years we have had announcements on the morning of the AGM.

The most interesting comment from my point of view was '�Finance will be conditional on offtake hitting 6-7mt, but offtake not a roadblock to getting conditional commitments from banks.� This would seem to imply that conditional offers could be given before any further offtake agreements are signed. Interestingly this creates the possibility that the conditional offers can be used as confirmation that SXX will have the finance to deliver the Poly4 to its customers. This would allow them to sign the agreements with confidence that they will get the Poly 4. This would then satisfy the banks that there is the demand so as to allow them to lend the money.

I did not know that SXX had their own ships.

Roulette - So do I. In the last two years we have had an RNS with news on the day of the AGM so it is possible.

Scotman - If the company wants to say anything new that is not already in the public domain that might impact on the share price then we will need a RNS before the AGM. So we will probably get two RNSs tomorrow one at 7am and then another later saying all the resolutions were passed. That is my prediction at any rate and I do not make them too often.

As I have now used up the number of free articles I can read for this week can we have no more articles from the Times until next week. I am anticipating an RNS tomorrow as otherwise there will be very little for the co mpany to say at the AGM tomorrow. I wonder how this folds into that? Of course there are other matters that could be mentioned. However I would note that the letters for the stage 2 funding are due to go out anytime from friday so the timing fits.

If anyone is going to the AGM would it be possible to probe the company on any plans to exploit the patents. I appreciate that what they say would be limited by the need to tell the market first if there is any price sensitive information.

Hallyb - what does your post refer to are you saying that selftrade are showing a price of 35.86 for SXX
