Also Appledore is closer to the Isles of Scilly than Belfast so it makes more sense for the to be built there. Also it is possible for the orders to be split between the two. I wonder if Appledore will do the civilian ships and Belfast the military ships.

I think that Appledore will be busy next year especially if HARL gets the bid for the new National Flagship.

Buried in the detail of the spending review was the announcement of the first round allocation form the levelling up fund of £1.7Bn of local investment in local areas including among the schemes given funding was this to upgrading the ferry to the Isles of Scilly, I think a contract may be coming HARL's way.

If I recall it was at the last Spending Review or Defence and Security Review that the government committed to a minimum annual spend with BAB and/or BAe. Does anyone think that this time around they may make a similar commitment to H&W. If had done so previously I do not think HARL would be in the position it is in now.

Having reflected some more o today's RNS I am no longer confident that there is s clear path to me regaining my losses. I am therefore going to sell off my holding and cut my losses. When some semblance of normal business returns I might reinvest.

For crying out loud. Are SAG serious the Board did not move as quick as they like so they want to remove the Chair. Sorry but I do not recall any resolution about any strategy. The two companies are separate and I do not see any advantage in a collaboration with SAG for TPG. If we have another General Meeting I will be voting the new management team needs time to try a turnaround.

I pointed out that they always refer to the NIMTF report and the fact that they say that this was not accepted as if that is grounds to set aside the judgement. I have just seen that Dorset Spirit is currently due to shift from BBD to D1N at 3pm on the 29 October 2021 before leaving from D1N three hours later. Does anyone have any idea why Dorset Spirit is shifting around just to depart instead of departing from BBD. Nothing is currently showing as coming into BBD.

This post was advertised on Harland and Wolff careers recently and one of things about the job that was noted at the time was the need for a SC clearance. I was doing some research not related to H&W when I came across this
National Security Clearances are a hierarchy of five levels, depending on the classification of materials that can be accessed—Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), Counter-Terrorist Check (CTC), Enhanced Baseline Standard (EBS), Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV).
I had originally thought that an SC clearance was lower than this but this together with the following experience being required Previous Warship, Shipbuilding or MOD experience. The job advert is on this link https://www.harland-wolff.com/news/jobs/3236/ So clearly H&W must be expecting a contract. I wonder if they have recruited somebody.
