The fun part is how GDR's test will be funded in the USA. It won't be covered by Medicare. It might not even ever be covered by insurance plans. My guess is it will take some time to become imbedded in care in USA, especially as it could well be part of "out of pocket" expenses:
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average cost of having a baby in the USA with health insurance is around $18,865 which includes pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, with the average out-of-pocket cost being approximately $2,854 for individuals with large group health plans.
Key points to remember:
Average cost: $18,865
Out-of-pocket cost: Around $2,854
Variation by delivery type: C-sections are significantly more expensive than vaginal deliveries
Important to check your plan details: Coverage can vary depending on your specific insurance plan
