Can't see why a large investor wouldn't post on or view a forum. You can see all kinds of nonsense, as well as sensible views of others. The sensible views can direct you to research of your own. Why would you have a professional adviser? What more would they know about AST? It's a bit like having an accountant to run an O&G company. Oh dear ... :-)

INA are in the position of not needing the processing plant in Slovenia as they already have one at Molve in Croatia. They don't need the IPPC permit. They would be needing permits to re-open other wells but they have gas already from PG10 and PG11a, they just need them stimulated to make them more reliable. INA would be more likely to make an offer sooner rather than later as other companies would need to wait for the IPPC. INA can get in earlier with an offer and be more assured of getting it accepted.

The U.K. market is closed on Monday. There's no bank holiday Monday in Croatia or Slovenia. Will investors risk being out of AST for three days until Tuesday? Let's see ...

Not much to shout about really at around 1.40p. With the potential here SML should be up above 2p. Still have good income from Cobre, despite the problems of one client, Leigh Creek is looking better by the day and Redmoor looks extremely promising. I trust John Peters when he tells us stuff in the podcasts as he is cautious in his words and has proved to be in his actions as well.

AST has been heavily manipulated in the AIM market since then. The best news now will still be lucky to get AST to 3p.

No need to flame people flamemaker. People say that's the way of AIM after it has retraced. They rarely predict it and are often just lucky when they do. They don't come back to comment when it doesn't happen. It could so easily have gone on to 1.25p or 1.30p. AST has been a lot higher. 1.20p is nothing.

CMG, we all had the chance to get out at 3p in January 2017. We just didn't realise the way things would go. We still don't and it may well get back to 3p+. How's your crystal ball? None of us know the way the companies in the SR are going to go or which way political pressure will now push things. We can surmise from the Wednesday 8th August meeting but we know politicians often say one thing and then do something completely different.

AST would have gone under without Henderson. They got their kilos of flesh. It was a business deal, as Whitematter would say.

I remember Sepura. The forum posters said not less than 60p, 80p, even 100p. It had been 160p+. It sold for 20p.

AST will be offered whatever a company wants to offer. AST don't have a lot of bargaining power. All they have is the large carrot of a gas field with a substantial NPV, but not the time to wait too long.

Colin 'banging' is justified in as far as he has been dealing with complex oil and gas problems with a qualification in accountancy. He's been learning on the job and has used lateral thinking on occasions. The INA contract when the IPPC was withdrawn is one. The SR is another with AST in funding difficulty to get the old wells going and to make PG10 and PG11a better. DYOR is only partly possible with AST as we don't know the thinking of the Slovenian government, their department at ARSO, the Russians intentions, the situation within Geonergo and Geoterm as JV partners, etc. etc.. Clus are seen by posts from TPT and a few others but essentially we are guessing based on opinion.

Clarity to some of these situations has been brought by the British Chambers of Commerce meeting with ARSO and the Environment Agency on 8th August with seemingly agreement that the permits would be issued after the latest amendments have been made. The latest RNS informed us the AST one was sent in last Friday. We just need one more from Geoterm at the beginning of September.

I go on the facts as we know them and then construe a likely outcome. To me that is an improving relationship with the Slovenian government and a more definite outcome for the permits. That will ensure a more definite and positive outcome for the SR, as Clive Carver stated in the conference call. All looking a lot better and that makes the latest drop in the SP from 1.20p a little annoying for those who can see the likely outcome.

Certainly not complete rubbish CMG. If you don't have time to explain why you think so you should not post. It just causes confusion for those bothered to read such an inane post.

Re-entering PG10 will cut off the income from that well for the duration of getting it re-sorted. That's our main income, keeping the lights on. There will also be a cost to re-entering and PG10 as the main income well. Without continuous income from PG10 AST can't afford to re-enter it. You can't have your cake and eat it. AST needs a company in the SR to provide funding and expertise to re-enter PG10 and all the wells. We need the SR success as soon as possible.

Personally I'd rather have a deal sooner rather than later. After more than two years my patience is wearing thin and I don't believe waiting any time would be good for shareholders. Any such delay could be suspiciously along the lines of a company waiting for AST to get closer to going under with PG11a being dodgy, PG10 needing attention and AST getting short of cash. That's a recipe for a low ball offer and AST unable to refuse.

So the not so smart sold this morning? I would say so. That RNS states everything running as advertised. It has often not done so with AST. Not the time to jump out.

They've missed out then CMG, as some sold at 1.21p just the other day.

The problem is that old adage: 'sell on news', especially good news. I suppose there are many who see the news , are not able to monitor things closely and just tell their broker to sell, assuming a rise. They're probably annoyed when they get home, or are later able to see what has happened, to find they sold cheaply.

I think some may have objected to the one word 'again' in Colin's comment on the RNS.
