It had been raised years ago Gerry around Whitematter's reign. My lack of a positive response to you was partly due to a 'here we go again' attitude on my part, although that has already gone in to the mists of time as well.

The dates were mentioned before with some implying the continued licensing may not happen. Were they privy to information we may now have, with Slovenia's current stance, or just de-rampers guessing?

Normally an expiry date is in place just so they aren't licensed indefinitely. However in the case of Slovenia they may well not allow them to continue the way things are currently going.

By then AST may well just be history in any case and Slovenia politically entwined with Russia. EU country in name only. Is there an acronym for that?

There have been many environmental protests where the environment has actually been made worse by misguided protesters. Bridges in London have been closed increasing traffic pollution, airports have been disrupted by protesters accessing airports and now we hear the latest Gatwick drone disruption is likely caused by environmental protesters. That is not only a disruption to passengers but will cause increased fuel consumption as aircraft have to divert to other airports and passengers have to be moved around the country to get back to their cars at Gatwick or elsewhere from somewhere they didn't intend to be. The increased pollution caused by this disruption is large and shows the misguided nature of these protests.

The Slovene environmental protesters are also misguided in protesting against gas when it is shown to be one of the better fossil fuels for the environment. Even the Minister has a biased view against certain forms of energy while not opposing other forms, such as coal or him moving around the country for photo opportunities in front of heaps of plastic or candles.

I would hope the latest Press articles in Slovenia are now moving toward a balanced view of sensibly accessing their own gas in a clean manner that doesn't damage the environment rather than importing gas from Russia and burning coal and local wood.

Reso's lengthy post looks impressive but actually only reiterates what was in previous AST RNSes. He implies that as the permit was awarded to Petrol Geo they are the ones who could be due compensation but they are not going to sue.

Any legal action would be to highlight the incorrect following of procedure and Slovene laws and the impact that has had on Ascent Resources. The lawyers will have it all worked out. After all on a no win no fee basis they will have a direct interest in the outcome. Unlike the BoD who have little invested in AST and won't be impacted financially if things don't work out. If the legal outcome falls in favour of Ascent Resources the lawyers will be taking a cut if not they won't get anything.

Any persuasion from Russia would not have been so crass as in a brown envelope. It would simply be what we have all seen in the photos of Slovene government officials and Gazprom officials smiling at the camera after contracts have been signed to import gas in to Slovenia from Russia. We know Russia don't brook any action against them after contracts have been signed. A certain Mr. Skripal will know all about that. It doesn't take much imagination to see what has happened.

I think I agree scott. How long do we have to wait for the Slovene government to get their act together? Another few years?

If there's no action from the government in the next couple of weeks the threat of legal action and then actual legal action would be the way to go. This has been going on far too long already.

Who more than scientist experts at a news conference in Slovenia would be more effective? It's not us that need convincing.

The arguments become circular. I have already pointed out the political expense to Slovenia of being in hock to Russia, as they currently are. But I'm really not interested in your polemics.

Ah reso has come up with a fact. Makes a change from abuse I suppose. But is that the fault of Colin or the Slovene government for not allowing the re-entry permits? These are old wells. They are going to need stimulation. Obviously the wells will run for a while and then reduce in volume output, they are old well.

So the fault is with the Slovene government but reso continues to blame Colin. If we had the permits to supply their own gas to the Slovene people Colin would be a hero. With the Slovene government at fault he has become the villain.

WHYAST, They are delaying because of an instruction to do so from the Minister while there is a police investigation into abusive emails. We know that. The Minister is interfering with ARSO, exactly what he said was happening from others.

Duster, As usual quite a rant there. I would agree they should invest there own money in AST and have said so earlier.

You know that production levels are decreasing month on month reso? You know that for a fact do you? Or is it just your usual insidious drip drip of misdirection?

New_2, It's not to 'not offend'. He's in the invidious position of not being able to explain to shareholders. The Slovene government and Press have already accused him of interfering with ARSO procedure. He either keeps quiet or risks providing reasons for them to delay even further. They are already delaying because of a police investigation. Do they need any more excuses?

Of course the whole thing stinks. We know that. That's the way the Slovene government operates.
