Why do you think that cd66? Why so aggressive? Am I too imprecise for you? I can't remember exactly when it was and can't be bothered to find out as it doesn't matter anymore. Salaries have been cut and need to be cut further. We need to get down to running costs in Slovenia only. Colin working for free? He's been paid more than most people would have had for salaries and even with the lack of company income over the years. Now he needs to look at the company's survival. Now is the time he needs to make an effort for little reward. The reward will come when he's successful. If necessary get out of Slovenia. Run it on the current and reducing production with no UK salaries, only those needed in Slovenia. Use no win no fee litigation lawyers to fight a rear guard action and move on. As WHYAST has said why would we want to invest any further in a processing plant in Slovenia even if we got the IPPC? It's too risky a country for any further investment. Get out, move on.

Ray, Colin is to blame for the poor information to shareholders. That doesn't change the fundamentals. The only people to blame for that is the Slovene government and their lack of honesty when the permits are concerned. I would say Colin has been too optimistic, especially if he had known of the reticence of the Slovene government. We now all know about that. Maybe Colin should have known earlier as he has been the one in direct contact with them. Otherwise it is entirely down to the Slovene government.

You appear to be saying he's doing all of this just because it's his job. It's also his job to ensure the country has energy security. That involves securing an energy source and for that energy source to be reliable and controllable. He is sadly lacking in that part of his job.

Clearly the Minister doesn't have a conscience about other peoples environments and, when it comes to politics, for some Russia can do no wrong.

Peripheral TPT. JL is doing everything to further his career. Loads of tweets from him with him standing with environmental people in front of piles of plastic or candles. Loads of stuff about him at the UN Climate Summit in Poland. All furthering his career.

Issuing the permits would be difficult for him to approve unless they can be justified on environmental grounds. So gas being better than coal, fossil fuels still being needed as the World improves renewable energy usage and the necessity of energy security and less reliance on Russia.

But he is siding with them TPT. We know that. You know otherwise?

What's that got to do with his influence over the Minister TPT? Clearly nothing at all as the Minister is still in contact with him and other environmental activists.

TPT, I don't think it is as simple as just reaching the top of the pile. JL doesn't want the permits issued, especially with the strong influence he is receiving, and in sympathy with, the environmental activist NGO. He needs to be outflanked by other ministers and the PM, if the PM can get away from his constitutional issues.

Sanctions against Russia haven't been entirely successful. With Slovenia being within the EU directly withholding money from the EU could be more successful. However that could drive Slovenia more toward Russia.

The only mistake AST investors have made has been the assumption an EU country would follows the rules within it's own legal system. I find it difficult to appreciate the full deceitfulness we have seen over the years. We have always assumed there were good reasons behind all of the requirements put to AST and it's JV partners. It is now clear they were mostly delaying tactics to stop the permits being issued.

The court case in 2016 had the IPPC withdrawn purely on the objection of an NGO activist. The subsequent three court cases of different obscure reasons for objection until finally in November 2017 the case was thrown out with the NGO being described as 'vexatious' by the court.

The only reason for the removal of the IPPC in 2016 was the objection of the NGO. When that NGO was found to be vexatious was the IPPC immediately reinstated? Absolutely not. In fact further requirements for soil samples and a base line survey were made.

This was starting to look strange and the subsequent obscure requirements from the new Environment Minister continued the now obvious delaying tactics.

I feel sorry for investors who invested in a company in a country which they thought had a law abiding EU member government.

Even legal action now may result in failure to get compensation. Not necessarily because the court would find against AST but because such a government may just refuse to pay out any such fine even if a court found against it. In that case it would be time for AST to get out of Slovenia, follow the last RNS, and move on elsewhere leaving the running costs in Slovenia to be covered by whatever gas they can sell to INA. If those running costs exceed the income then they would have no choice but to walk away completely leaving the Slovene government to sort their own problems out. After a successful court case for AST they would have little legal recourse when they had refused to pay out any fine.

Even Whitematter didn't predict the Slovene government preventing access to their own gas field over spurious environmental concerns when ARSO have ensured all environmental concerns have been dealt with.
