So often happens on these boards. A CEO expresses a hope in an interview and that becomes a 'promise' in some eyes. JP has always been enthusiastic in interviews. Are some to be misled by that into thinking the future is amazing on his enthusiasm alone? Look coldly at the projects and the possibilities. That tells us this company has great potential. Of course JP is going to be enthusiastic but look at the situation yourself.

The Environment Minister is not just 'doing his job' unless that job involves messing up foreign companies investing in the country he's in the government of. The applications have been in place for months and all the necessary requirements of AST and JV partners were completed last October, three months ago. There's little more Colin can do on that front except pushing ARSO continually and having meetings with ministers in Slovenia, not just the Environment Minister.

Now that the delaying for no reasonable reason is apparent it is time for diplomatic hints of legal action to be raised. That has happened with Colin seeing various lawyers in London and Ljubljana. That now needs to be stepped up further. Hopefully the Minister and the Slovene government see where this is going and allow AST the permits shortly.

Nothing good in that interview. All about emails from people 'claiming' to be from AST. Police investigation holding up any progress on the permits. That interview is now a month ago and these things are still being used as 'reasons' for no further progress.

As I have said already it is now obvious what the Slovene government is doing in delaying the permits ad infinitum. They don't want to issue the permits but can not say 'no' to them as that would open them up to legal action. Saying nothing has the same effect as a 'no' answer and is therefore the best option fro them.

Delaying legal action any further has little use for AST except to really emphasise the inactions of the Slovene government.

We have waited too long already. JL and the Slovene government are now clear in their delaying tactics.

This break has gone on too long. Always the same every Christmas. Normality takes about 3 weeks to resume. TV is rubbish. All doom and gloom.

WHYAST, I think TPT does understand that. The AST BoD also understood it and stated as much in an RNS. However the Slovene court stuck to their erroneous decision and AST had to suffer the vexatious appellant and the subsequent soil samples and base line survey requirements until the latest Environment Minister decided to investigate the situation and have a police investigation in to abusive emails. Any storyline based on this would be considered too outlandish for it to be realsitic. Now nearly three years on from the court decision of 2016 and we're nowhere further forward.

Unlike a certain few I do have confidence in Colin but not only do I not have confidence in the Slovene government it is clear they are actively against issuing the permits. An incredible situation that a government is actually knowingly causing harm to it's own economy and it's own citizens. And it's taking a foreign company to try to prise open the bureaucracy to access the known gas field and reopen the wells already in place and just needing soft stimulation and not fracking as has been stated by certain 'environmental activists'. You really couldn't make it up. It could only be real.

Almost not worth having the market open today. Certainly not worth it for AST. The Slovene government and ARSO aren't going to be doing anything as the civil servants must have there long Christmas break. A slightly less lethargic service may be resumed next week when they can twiddle their thumbs while waiting for someone in authority to influence the Environment Minister to get the permits issued. Even then the IPPC is becoming less interesting as it would be difficult to justify further investment in Slovenia for a processing plant.

Deja vu all over again.

ARSO issues a permit. An NGO immediately objects to it. Courts tie it up for months until the appellant is found to be vexatious. Is the permit immediately reinstated? Absolutely not. It's a pantomime. Goes on for months in a circular argument that never ends.

And of course Gorazd Marincek would have no connection with them would he? It's a pantomime with the government and NGOs cooperating together in it. I'm surprised any business gets done with foreign companies at all in Slovenia.

That's alright then. At least two other 'parties' can appeal.

Surely not? But he has no official status! And that nice Mr. Leben. He's only doing his job.

TPT, Your belief in JL is commendable. Most of us don't share it. The extent of his actions is too great to think otherwise.

It's not just a tv programme. It's all the evidence from Twitter, tv, news articles,. They all point clearly to his bias against things he considers to be politically favourable for him to be against.

His reaction to ARSO issuing permits is clear with the ruse of investigating ARSO procedures and having a police investigation in to abusive emails. All transparently delaying tactics.

TPT, You say and show evidence he has no further status as an NGO and then you say Jure Leben has to engage with NGOs? You say we are making assumptions about his connection with Jure Leben and yet they appear on television together? I think you are ignoring the obvious. His friends are clear for all to see and they are generally of the 'green' variety. You do protest too much in his favour considering the obvious publicity we see in newspaper articles and on twitter.

Amazing how a system allows one person with an agenda to create such havoc. But then he has to have supporters in government to allow that to happen. And his main supporter in government is Jure Leben who just happens to be the Environment Minister with a veto over permits.

He's not allowed to officially object under NGO status. Doesn't mean he doesn't have influence over Jure Leben. Jure Leben is the road block now and he's in the position as Environment Minister to be a very effective road block. About time he was sidelined by the PM and the Slovene government and quickly.
