Colin's interview showed the financial position to be a lot better than many had assumed. Compression techniques are available without stimulation permits but will cost. The amount it would cost is yet to be divulged and that is crucial to any placing amount needed and,as lejjb says, needs evaluating.

Point of order Reg. No placing has been 'agreed'. The EGM voted to allow the BoD to have a placing if necessary. It may become necessary but your wording is incorrect.

Generally the market should be sensible in realising the main Cobre client wasn't around for the majority of last year and therefore such a comparison is not relevant.

In the past the annual contract renewal at Cobre has raised the SP significantly. The current increase in the SP is quite mild in comparison. But the whole market seems quite restrained at the moment.

However JL has been investigating ARSO's procedures, although we are assured by Colin the investigation has been completed and ARSO was criticized for their procedures and nothing was found to be out of order with the data from AST and Geonergo. It does seem to be the reasoning for the current permit delays and a convenient reason to continue the delays for someone who does not wish to issue permits.

Sorry, I had the temerity to voice an opinion again.

It is frustrating having seen 1.15p very recently we are now back at 1.05p. I suppose the market sees any news possibly coming in February and therefore is waiting for it.

Some on Twitter are going getting very frustrated about the lack of permits. Jure Leben has tweeted the following translated tweet:

"I have ordered a new professional and independent #merjenja on the basis of the wells from which the soil samples will be taken. With the independent analysis of the soil I would particularly like to appease the Obcanke and citizens of Moravc, who rightly do not know who they can trust."

The translation is not precise, as normal, but the soil sample excuse is till being used. Soil samples were being asked for a year ago and it would seem JL is still investigating this procedure. That's his excuse and that is his reason for taking the inordinate amount of time to issue permits. He is also tweeting to appeal to sections of the Slovene community to get their support. Of course it may also be just kicking the can down the road and further excuses may yet appear.

Point 3. is the current situation New_2. I believe they can use compression technology without a stimulation permit. The only problem with that is it would need funding. Current SP is far too low for a placing. Colin needs to find funds from somewhere. Maybe his new found friend has some ideas?

Don't know how the market will react. Carver gone is good news for many but just how good it is in practical terms is not known. John Buggenhagen sounds good from his experience but I don't know how the market will react to him. It is good to have a COO who knows about oil and gas though. That has to be good. Still no info on the permits getting issued. That's fundamental to AST but something we already know and the market has currently priced in.

TPT, You criticise misiekm for losing you and yet you, again, insinuate there's more to the thread than just positives of Croatia without saying what you mean. We may surmise many things but we can't read your mind, although many may cringe at the very thought. Please have more clarity and not just insinuate stuff with lots of !!! and ??? and ..... . You do the same on Twitter and it can be annoying as you may be providing information which could be helpful but isn't when you provide it in riddles or insinuations.

All sounds very nice TPT. The only weak point in the arrangement would be the Slovene bureaucracy and specifically Jure Leben and ARSO, unless Petrol expect to take over AST's Petisovci gas field. Cue the lawyers ...

Currently Colin is paying himself at a rate which is not sustainable for the company. The company needs to cut expenditure to the necessary amount needed to keep the local Slovene operation going only. He needs to be working for nothing, or at least very much less, to protect the future of the company if it has any.

We are due a company report. It could be the report is also getting delayed because he will have to admit the poor cash situation and will then have to reduce his income drastically. His lack of communication is not good for his position of responsibility as CEO.

We see a lot of these articles from TPT. I can't work out how relevant they are or whether they will have any positive effect at all for AST. So far they haven't. Certainly Petrol's move seems to show confidence or it could just be that they are a Slovene company and Slovene companies tend to invest locally in Slovenia or neighbouring countries. I can't see any evidence so far that JL is changing his mind to come around to issue the permits for AST or that AST is getting themselves out of this mess by legal means or by persuading other ministers or the PM to get things moving positively for AST. That is the real issue and a side issue with Petrol has little or no relevance, maybe.
