I think most genuine people posting here are not looking to sell. They are looking for a rise in the SP. There are a few nasty posters though who revel in other's suffering. I like to think most aren't like that.

Lots of positive posts with evidence of future good news to come. Yet the SP continues to languish. The market has to be convinced or the good news needs to be imminent. With a forecast of mid February for the good news I expect it's the lack of imminence that is the problem here.

Personally I do see some problems with the way things have gone but largely put the reasons for the poor performance down to the Slovene government, just as you expansively say. Good post.

In fact Colin's salary is a direct result of the funds available to AST. He could easily have increased his investment in AST by just using part of his salary. He gets paid enough to do so. That money would appear as Colin paying for shares and would increase confidence when, in fact, the money would remain in the company as he would have paid money in to the company for those shares.

Seeing as you ask. The current situation with the permits, and that was the subject then, is the fault of the Slovene government. The placing is a symptom of that but to do it at such a low SP is not sensible and the resultant net raise of just £331,000 is tiny for what the company needs. Please don't put the blame on to posters on this forum for saying as much and put it where it is due.

Don't think red lines will help. Do we trust our politician's red lines? Not when they ignore them at will.

The pipeline to Croatia bypassed the processing plant permit problem. Unfortunately the old wells now need stimulation and that could require permits. Of course if compression techniques bypass the stimulation permit problem by not needing them that may be the solution to that. Then all we need (not need) would be for the Slovene government to stop the gas going to Croatia via the now existing pipeline.

If the placing can fund well stimulation by allowed compression without stimulation permits to get the gas flow to a commercially viable level then we're all quids in. If ......

Embittered though you sound there is some sense in your last post FF. Having been in AST for some years there is a disconnect between what Colin says and what Colin often does. In the past I've put it down to him being over optimistic but he's been too over optimistic a few too many times now.

The latest placing is based on nebulous goals of developing Petisovci without saying how. Compression techniques previously discussed by Colin? Who knows? The RNS doesn't say. It mentions "identified opportunites" but doesn't specify what the opportunities are, despite being "identified".

So bizarre it's now their only income. How bizarre is that? Almost as bizarre as your ECJ court scenario.

The turkeys are keeping very quiet about that. I'm not but then I would like to see where AST is going before I would jump in again.

But that's a bit too nebulous for my liking.

Correct New_2. It's the case that a £200 million NPV field doesn't equate to a £200 million MCap. It's also the case that money spent on a project isn't 'owed' back at all. It just needs to be recovered by gas sales for commercial viability. However the really big lie is saying the gas can't be got at. The Petisovci field is a known gas field with a known minimum size and has had gas extracted from it for many decades already. I remember kelsbells and his previous assertion. He was wrong then and still is now. Repeating the assertion months later doesn't make it any more right.

It is now abundantly clear the Slovene government doesn't want to access the gas under the current regime in charge of issuing the permits to do so. Their difficulty is that AST and Geonergo have been allowed to invest money and access the gas field over many years already and that now makes it difficult for the Slovene government to say 'no' to permits when ARSO have already completed the lengthy application process last October.

To say because the gas hasn't been retrieved because it is not possible to get it out is palpable nonsense when it has been retrieved already over many decades and just needs stimulation to the already existing wells to make it a commercially viable gas flow to INA and their existing processing plant at Molve in Croatia.

So Colin is probably as much in the dark about permits as he has been or he would have waited until the issue of them became evident. I think the SP is too low for any meaningful fund raise but that wasn't stated as a fact, it was just an opinion based on the ability to raise funds at this SP.

I might also be so bold as to say the SP will fall back on Monday because of the placing and because the market will assume (again without the market actually knowing as a fact) that Colin is expecting a wait longer than next week or even this month.

Colin has mentioned about compression equipment. He just hasn't said he is getting it, yet. The placing may be for that. Others are just assuming maliciously that it could be just for salaries. I don't see highlander or some others complaining about those making that assumption as a 'fact' though.

I've also seen a lot of abusive ways of calling Colin (Colon) on here and on Twitter. It really doesn't endear you to readers of those tweets or posts. It also doesn't help your case to be abusive about him.

Theresa May has been kicking the can down the road. The default position for the EU withdrawal agreement is a no deal Brexit. It will happen without any other input.

The default position for JL not approving the permits is no permits. That is the current default position and remains so until the permits are approved.

In a coalition government internal politics is always very difficult. JL's popularity in the country makes it very difficult for the PM to overrule him. It would seem JL is getting pressure from the Infrastructure Minister but just how effective is that pressure? A strong case has to be constructed by AST with the help of Slovene politicians to show the strong advantages of natural gas over coal, wood burning and even nuclear energy, as well as the energy security issues for Slovenia. That's alongside any legal case that needs to be constructed.
