Johnny/Progress - I get what you're saying too but for me in the short term there's a risk that things could escalate. Whilst there are some talks underway, Putin doesn't seem to be in any mood to compromise and he is becoming more and more unpredictable. The stakes have been raised over the weekend and there is a risk that there is a further shock to the whole market.
Specifically on Prem, I don't see a RUS this week. A deal could be announced anytime but I'm inclined to think that the preferred partner will have taken the foot of the pedal slightly! Every boardroom in the world will, at the very least, be assessing what is going on in Ukraine and making their own judgements about how things might play out. So if the plan last week (before the invasion) was to announce a deal this week, I'd suggest that, at a minimum, that deal announcement would be delayed by a few days. If things escalate in Ukraine then that might delay things further.
In the longer term then, absolutely, there is no doubt that the sp will fly but in the next few days, in the next week... well, I've de-risked.
My hope and prayer is that the Ukraine situation is resolved asap - unfortunately, for me, there's too much risk in the market.
