Looking more at the wording (on directors talk), it seems that the reason no helium was found when drilling tai 2 was that the helium in tai 1 was trapped vertically and horizontally by a clay seal in the lower depths if I read it right. So looks like helium is in place and nicely trapped, hence the shallow exploration/drilling programme announced today.
So maybe not nearly as bad as it looks.
Maybe even better. More small pockets of easily accessible gas than one larger much deeper one.
