To be clear, I'm not saying they "can" exercise these options, I'm just saying it's not "clear" whether they can or can't.
If you can provide me with something similar stating that options granted outside a close can't be exercised during a closed, then please do, as at present, it just appears to be your opinion

I'm no expert, but the link here (admittedly from 2016), seems to suggest that as long as the conditional transaction was entered into before the close period, then there is no problem (Q4). I appreciate this isn't explicitly "options" but sounds pretty close.

Unless you are going to claim you have some financial qualifications, or expertise in this area, I would suggests your opinion here is unlikely to be correct and that your view that this is "simple" is very misguided
