Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
I have received my comms from II asking if I wish to take up the Avacta Open Offer for existing shareholders to buy additional shares (in my case 466 of them) at 95p. It’s not an awful lot of money to do this so my thinking is naturally I will be take up the offer. Likewise, I hope that many others
do so as no doubt this will impact positively our sp. However, there isn’t much difference between our current sp (and the offer price) for this to be attractive to everyone. I wonder is there a possibility that the company could make an announcement prior to the expiry date of offer( 2nd November) or will this be so heavily subscribed that it will make no difference whatsoever if relatively small shareholders like me accept or don’t accept the offer. I may be miles off the mark and there is no business case whatsoever for Avacta to do this. It does however raise another question … how many private investors on LSE are going to be taking up the offer?

Took me over 30 minutes with II to top up with another £35,000 this afternoon. Last time I topped up with this amount the SP was £2.10. Avacta is the most researched share on entire AIM market and is a steal at this price! GLA
Great to see you back Mr Ripley. This forum has missed your lively commentary. To be honest, I am surprised it’s taken you this long to return but sounds like you’ve been making millions with your real job (delighted to hear btw). Haven’t sold a single share (thought about it) but we always knew that it was always going to be the therapeutics that was going to bring us home the big bucks. Let the good times roll!

Sailorgirl,
You have a paper value of Avacta shares currently worth c£1.2
million and you choose this forum to discuss whether you will increase that by to c£5 million and you think that anyone here gives a damn or even believes you?
If you are telling the truth, it’s very crass to reference such large numbers here. I’m £30k down on my SiPP pension because of Avacta (I bought at 2.50) but confident that it will
recover. Did you mean to say 1000 shares instead of 1
million?
Thanks for all comments - the match started
shortly after I started that thread and I must say, what a lovely stress free win for the three lions… however, it totally consumed my past few hours, along with a few beers!
Not sure I would be digging at UK politicians if I wanted them to one of my biggest initial business! I’d say there is no way we are dealing with the UK Govt on the LFTs
But I am inclined to agree with NR11. Perhaps AL is saying “up- yours “ to the govt and we have secured orders and manufacturing capacity for the non UK market? Either way, I am happy but if we don't secure any UK orders, I hope the SP doesn’t come under pressure again. It is a huge market for the best LFT in the world!
This one perplexes me. It is certainly no coincidence that Avacta were intentionally multi referencing their test as being “made in the UK” but what is the rationale behind this? If we are looking to promote within EU, I don’t think this is the way to do it. Besides, I think we most likely already have contracts signed and ready to supply to some EU members (Span most
likely for me). The UK is hardly flavour of the month with the EU (G7 summit, Brexit and NI protocol etc) so who is this UK centric message in a rushed out RNS (containing a few grammatical errors) aimed at? For me it has to be the UK market and possible to the greater UK population as a whole as we will have a job to do in convincing them as to the benefit of our new (unlike Innova) fit for purpose LFTs. Perhaps the UK gov had advance notice of the Innova FDA news or Avacta have already been contacted by HMG and given assurances of future orders to have prompted this rather hurried RNS with the multi UK references? Interested in what all your thoughts are on this guys?
I’ve searched CNN and Fox News websites and I can’t see mention of the Innova test being recalled? Perhaps there aren’t that big in the US or maybe just the public just accept that LFTs are not reliable given all the negative press
initially (certainly negative press for LFT on this side of the pond)
I wonder if the European Medical Agency (EMA) have released some confidential update to Sticky concerning our European approval and he’s sharing again on Twitter. It wouldn’t surprise me - someone dared him to do it today. It certainly worked for the MHRA
Templar…. Wtf???? You think the UK Govt don’t know about us already??? Just bring it to the attention of media now about crappy Chinese tests will do us no favours …it will just create negative pr about ours and tests in general. We have a world class PR company employed here…. I appreciate you are doing this in the best interests of sales/increased SP but please please, leave it to the professionals. We’ve only just got CE today for goodness sake!
