you are right however that if THG gives the market a reason to re-look at it (ie it finally hits the mid or upper range of what it has committed to the market), it will re-rate and 1 quid does not look un reasonable, esp if they give bullish guidance for 2023

clearly something dogdy is going on by the shorts, as more buys than sells/ rest of on and offline retail is recovering, but THG is being kept down. THG dont help themselves with radio silence though.

loads of unanswered questions remain on strategy, and no one is buying shares, let alone wanting to take it over

when a SP falls from 500p to 215p this time last year, to a bid of 170p 6 months ago, to 53p today, there is clearly a lot of issues to address

Hi Oke, yeah my assumptions are a little more bullish as whey has come down so much that i think all price protection goes (which is a saving of 45m) then add to that they will make more margin from mypro in H1 by cycling very high input costs, plus the circa 100m they will make in this horrid year, and 180m+ is do able (my et is THG has an internal target of 200m)

i also agree that they have to get staff numbers down, and I know we both agree that those hotels must go/ or at least add significant margin ahead of average business

my biggest concern is they miss topline sales due to recession in 2023 (which todays retail sales numbers are showing is happening, but maybe THG is better placed than most to continue to grow low teens?)

2022 ebita of circa 101m, FCF -200M/ sales of 2380m
2023 ebita of circa 187m, FCF -36M (working capital inflow of circa 30m)/ sales of 2666m

2phevs, could you expand on your definition of deof going to hit the numbers. there is quite a range in guidance for both topline and bottom line

very valid opinion Goldenbaby. Mould has circa 12% of voting rights, so that does leave him very vulnerable from Sept '23 as you woudl expect Sofina and Balderton are seriously annoyed with the missed targets since listing. he may even be removed as CEO (unlikely though)

he does need to show a value accretive plan to shareholders before then which as H1 are reported as late as Sept would actually mean he now only has 6 months of trading to deliver, or max 9 months to do a MBO

clearly JUP, SOftbank and Rowe Price (who have now all sold at way way less than 100p) would have accepted - these were shareholder 4,5 and 6 at the time

the concern is THG were simply worried to open the books

how can 170-200 not be worth it for a SP that was trading at less than 100p at the time, as low as 60p at the time, and is now at 50pish

mad isnt it smartpee - the problem of a relatively small free float, heavy shorting/ shares on loan/ and a standard listing vs premium (circa only 7-9 companies on the ensure london stock market have this arrangement so you see why it is so easy to be mucked around with)

sorry scrap that, as Mould was so arrogant as yo insist on a standard listing, there is, as usual, zero buying support, so bots/ algos can bring down SP at will
