seems the sell off is more technical based, but not be helped by this latest rant.

Kando called this perfectly a couple of days ago.

i find him a knowledgeable poster. none of us wanted THG to drop, but we have (a lot from 102 to 86 in 24 hours) and annoyingly there is still no buying support coming in.

being in a closed period, all we can now hope is H1 results are blockbuster. previous form has materially disappointed to the downside. lets see. this remains a volatile share to invest in, and attracts a lot of hair brained rampers like pearls, who are here to make a quick buck and ramp.

personally, this could easily drop further between now and results with no news to change the bearish direction

Volume is high today, and there is strong selling (level 2). has now breached 93p and 90.8p supports.

whilst market has been terrible, and retailers suffering, it is being exaggerated here and last 2 days feels like market has heard something THG specific they dont like. lets see what the weekend papers bring

LSE is the Jurassic park of investment, and it serves it right. unless you are an old world company like oiler/ bank/ insurance, you get no domestic support. combined with the co-ordinated media led attacks, it is easy to see why it is a laughing stock, and no doubt Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam will over take it soon. London doesnt even deserve to be put in the same sentence as the US indexed.

THG have formed some very impressive partnerships (autostore/ PWC/ Bigcommerce etc).

but they need to announce customer wins through this or land a whale to get the benefit from the Market. to date they have been very quiet here, and the update in the FY results wasnt too mind blowing. that said good to see Moulding re-confirm they are on track to hit extra 1bn GMW in 2023, and also good to see Matalan gear up and Maximo launched

Agree, Moulding referenced expected destocking should stop by H1 so would expect to see good H2 growth. the concern is that most analysts feel most if not all beauty margin comes from manufacturing so they are very reliant on it, and does raise the question of what is the point of LF/CB etc

To be fair to THG, its must easier for manufacturers to make money at the moment. they seem to be able to pass price increases all the time, whereas the market place (from tesco to sainsbury to online market place like thg) is much harder to do

look at the profit and sales FMCG like Nestle, Danone, Unliver are doing vs Tesco for example. then the manufatcurers benefit from being able to increase distributuion etc etc

for me, I am ok with THG beauty maybe staying flat to 1% growth this year as long as ebitda doubles to 4-5% and then 6% next year.

the growth can come from mypro which is essentially a manufacturer as well as a marketplace (a perfect mix), and maybe ingenuity if it can ever land a whale
