maybe they are too small to develop Anchois. they don't even have Cash to do this. Best is to sell the whole offshore to Energean or another operator.
with the money they can return half as a dividend and use the other half on Namibia and onshore Morocco business.
for the energy business they need to tell the market where they are. are they close to agreeing terms with a bank? any progress there can add 5p to the share price.
The asset sale to Energean looks the most likely option. AP can release an RNS that CHAR is exiting offshore Morocco for $100m to focus on onshore Morocco and other business such as Namibia. they can give a $50m dividend sweetener. given we are at 1p no one will say NO. Simon was also going in this direction last week when he said there is life beyond Anchois.
After the deal with Energean was signed we went from 14 p to 1.3 p. the fall was constant and systematic. no news was helping the share price.
the reason for this fall will become clear soon. did AP agree with Energean to take this private on the cheap?
the capital raise of $6m was done to increase management share.
I will hold and see but it looks we are coming to the end of this game now. either we are selling the asset or a takeover are becoming sensible options.
