Thank you very much all reporter's of the power day. I just want to give my short opinion for what I read till now.
For me today we made a huge step ahead. We are within of dozens of Gigawatt factories with a capacity of 500GWh+.
Additional Volkswagen made clear today that they prefer local ressources. That means for me in a couple of days or weeks we will have an offtake. It's imminent and inevitable for me, if Musk is the devil he will sell off Cinovec for his planned Giga at Grünheide with planned 250GWh at highest output stage. Before I watch the whole power day where are the Gigas located? 1.Salzgitter 2.sweden? 3.... is this with czechia confirmed? I could imagine that maybe CEZ and VW team up.
What a day. Really glad and happy for our small project.
Thank you very much Arnaud!
Volkswagen prefers hard rock.looks really good.
Can someone report about power day. I'm at work till 3pm CET and cannot watch. thx

Hello my name is Stanley and I'm a reporter from the Cinovec times. I would like to make an interview with Keith tomorrow. Between 1-4pm CET would be a perfect time. Is there still some space in his diary? May be he has already planned some other video conferencing. I really don't know....can anybody ring the bell in Perth...thank you (-:
In this article(in german sry) is a summary about all battery factories which are under construction or already in use in Germany. Little bit mor down there is a picture summary. It's up to date. Tesla plans 250GWh later that's massiv. Nortvolt in Salzgitter will be 48GWh.

Found it. But it's still exotic. Sry in german

I thought I read some article that solid state battery's enables other elements than lithium do the same job. Obviously a misinformation. Checked it experts say what you are writing. Thanks for clearyfication
Two things are circling in my mind for Monday. The first thing is that in some german VW forums they write maybe VW brought the solid state battery to live. Imo this is highly unlikely. But my biggest fear for sure
Additional I read that a VW Employee wrote that he ask in his fabric about the upcoming power day and got the answer that his company will likely present a new "battery system" which is really advanced. Imo it's the LFP accu.(By the way CATL has already delivery problems here)
But you see a lot of rumors and uncertainties around.
Second thing is that keeps my mind busy that we could go down a little bit on monday/tuesday. But actually with that possibility I have not that problem because I always answer myself then we are in a great position for the next month and years. We are on the bright side of live conventional car makers are not.
And I just wanted repeat again that Tesla did not announce the Piedmont deal at battery day 23.of september they announced it at 28. of september 2020. Im pretty sure that nobody in this forum will panic at monday because I see huge specific human analytic potencial in the raw sector in this forum best what I found till now. Thank you all for your really substantial great analyses, assessments and contributions.
Kind regards from Germany
Additional Volkswagen was number four customer of Gangfeng. 1.Tesla 2.LG Chem 3.BMW Group 4.Volkswagen Group
I find nothing about quantities and price. There is only written "confident" and "well position"
and by the way there is written memorandum of understanding... so Volkswagen actually imo is not in a good position to electrify 70 % of the fleet till 2030.
@mkdv
up there in you posted link is just one sentence written that makes all so tensed:
FURTHER NEGOTIATIONS WITH OTHER PROVIDERS ARE ONGOING.
That's says it all.
As Europe's by far biggest car maker you better would be independend. You can make contracts and all the fine talks but at the ende of the day Gangfeng is a China supplier.
@mkdv I don't know if you know this but Zwickau has a historic value for VW. (Horch) Audi was born here before WW2. In Zwickau not one Gasoline or diesel car is produced anymore only electric assembly lines. It's the most advanced VW factory. A giga would make perfect sense here somewhere. East Germany has lower working costs in generaly too than other places in Germany. Would be a huge signal for German customers too
@mdkv
What I read in on German sources you are on the right train. The riddle for me is where is VW going to build this new giga factory. Must be so where notoo far from Cinovec in east Germany. Imo Zwickau make most sense. Because of this hinds I Think our position is very good even without VW.
Just don't want to crush the party but Tesla announced Piedmont 5 days after battery day in september 2020. I go anyway long with EMH doesn't matter what will happen on Monday VW, Tesla, Daimler, CEZ we will see. I believe on the project and the potential of EMH. Lithium is the new gold in this decade. Hold and be patient and all will be fine.
Don't know if you know this but Deutsche Lithium bought some ground in Altenberg beside the mine. So there is some dynamic but hard to say how it goes in future. In my opinion the mine will open. Really curious for what they need this ground. Sorry only in german
"Veräußerung der Flurstücke 859/12, 859/13 sowie ein Teilstück des Flurstück 860/20 der Gemarkung Altenberg an die Deutsche Lithium GmbH entsprechend § 5 (3) Abs. b Gesellschaftervertrag
(Vorlage-Nr.: SR 224/19/2021)"

The lithium market makes a sharp u-turn this year. Prices are getting higher because the demand in China is rising. Car makers like VW are actually forced to act.

I'm in with a couple of thousand shares to 0,90€
I believe in this project with or without VW. It doesn't matter so much which car maker will make the offtake. Im a electric pro and excited about the future.
They are sleeping or we are fools. I'm German and watching for news or at least guesses in this direction from someone but nothing for now. Only a small tweet with four likes. The Volkswagen share chats have nothing in. Nobody so far know about what is coming at least till weekend I guess.
But sure maybe we are wrong....but I believe really firm on what will happen next week.
Just one thing will not in my mind. Why they want bring the lithium from Cinovec to Salzgitter. Maybe the will build a new Giga somewhere near Zwickau or even beside the construction lines already there.
All in that VW will make it. The demand is huge, the ways are short and they can sell 'European clean lithium'. Guess they will announce the deal at power day. In the last Interview Keith mentioned VW and Tesla already specific and in the right order
VW will play the offtake and Tesla will come after.
Interesting. Just read some article in German about the factory in Zwickau. They are planning to build there a lot of cars not only VW's also Audis like the E-Tron and a Seat will be produce there beside the ID family. They spent last years 1,2 Billion Euro in the factory to make that happen. So it's really not unlikely that on 15 of March they will announce a lithium deal like Tesla did. Tesla will go straight for that mine too and VW knows that. VW has to act under current lithium price acceleration and maybe did now. But keep in mind that there is still a second smaller mine on our side in Zinnwald. VW is a German company and they could sell there electric cars much better with lithium produced in a German mine I think. Anyway it's exciting you are right. I'm invested on both sides
