It must be a no brainer for a peer to come in and gobble up enquest. It is 400m which is peanuts for most peers. There are no big institutional investors and at a 30% premium is no tall order. I can imagine if we are still stuck around 30p by september that Moves Will be afoot.

I Also believe that we Will be close to 60k by year end. Investments in Alma, Malaysia and other assets should lift us.

Thanks for sharing that kraken. To be honest i dont see kraken being signed off until early next year. I do believe that enquest Will hold out for contractual rates (i would do the same) so that trigger we should not count on. Anyway - the good news is that the oil is still in oil reserves. The bad news is that operationally enquest and their operator partners have delivery issues. I Wonder if enquest has lost talented people. Hall and McCullough being names that come to mind. Anyway, i think that higher Brent Will start to have an impact on the sp. It has too. If we hit 90 then that is an additional 250 musd in bottom line income.

Epiphany - you are right to bring up re taxes. Enquest Will not pay any Corporate taxes for the foreseeable future (if ever). Have a feeling it is some ridiculous tax credit of 3 bn or something. Amazing that the debt is priced at 94,25. It seems like the market sees next to no risk in the debt but the equity is highly risky. 3,8 times profit after tax. And with 17 years production to come. Wow!

Epiphany - top and bottom. There should be no opex, capex, finance or admin costs that flex with the price of Brent?

Is worth aproximately 20m usd to the enquest bottom line (56k barrels a day x 365) so when Brent drops 1 dollar as it did between yesterday and today it seems well motivated that our market cap drops by 10% or 40m usd (roughly). I fully understand the logic - Trump logic :-)

Enquest looking very robust at these extremely low valuations of 3,9 Times P-E. Hopefully we can keep it up!

We are being manipulated beyond belief! Trading volume was not thin yesterday. In my mind the biggest issue is the P-E valuation of the stock. 3,8 is a farce!

Hi auson, well my point was that the trading is heavily manipulated. The stock market is more like a casino today. I do find it strange though that enquest is valued at 3,8 P-E for 2018 and tullow, pmo and gkp at 9+. In my mind that goes a long way to explain why we are languishing at 30p and not at 60p+. Why this is so is a mystery to me. Does it hang together with sign off? God only knows.

Well that was shortlived but i agree with the discoqueen that it aint worth the paper its written on. The blip is gone and now we are back to where we were on wednesday. Onward and downwards!

It appears that the shorters are still playing the sp. Was glad to see the rec from barclays (most welcome) but it is really difficult to understand why it cant keep hold of the gains.

Interesting that despite the positive recs we are struggling to maintain gains. Back around where we started the week...

It seems at the moment that any movements up in poo have no or slightly negative impact on enquest sp whereas movements sown have a disproportionate impact. No news is not good news for enquest. I fear the slide back to 30p where we seem to have some support...

I guess we Will not know for sure if it Will have an effect or not until it does come. There is no other trigger apart from poo short term really. It was ”imminent” 6 weeks ago.

Hi epiphany I do trust the cfo however i think the fact that he has not invested a penny of his own money (all shares are allocated) is a poor reflection on the company. I have learnt a lot and i cant claim to have a good investment philiosophy. I go on gut feeling and see obviously that even a fool couldnt go wrong in the oil sector. As i wrote timing is everything and i was way too early in the share. I stand by my comments that AB is not a good CEO but that is academic.

I guess if you had been here invested more than a couple of months you would feel more frustrated but timing is everything. Just need to know when AB plans to cash home - hopefully it is less than 10 years in the future. I agree it doesnt matter if production is 50 or 60k at the moment or if Brent is 80 or 90 - the sp Will not move until there is proof of that the underperforming assets are beyond current troubles. Then the balance sheet and production figures are messy and difficult for most of the analysts to come to grips with. 3k in production figures come off what is quoted in Malaysia, we have this loan deal that is consuming 3k barrels a month and so on. It is a mess but it is what it is.

Regardless whether enquest survives or not (and i do hope it does for everyones sake) my personal opinion is that information sharing from enquest is an utter disgrace and is more in line with a privately Held company. AB should hand over the management of the company so we can separate ownership and leadership in a professional manner. A P-E of 4 with poo at close to 80 reflects poorly on his management.
