@sleepydave: I checked the three companies you posted below and none of them manufactures diagnostic test equipment. What I meant is ODX is the only diagnostic medical equipment UK company focused mainly on viral infections. All those present in the UK are representatives of foreign companies.

ODX is backed by the government too. One has to be aware that ODX is the only medical equipment manufacturer in the UK while Germany and France have loads. So I am sure they will put all resources needed to help ODX grow very quickly.

Oilheadgame: The companies with no money are those making £3 millions and losses of £8 millions with debt over 3% million and where the share price is more than £2. check all those involved in Covid 19 and you will see that ODX is the better placed because it is well established since 1987 with good improving turnover and profit. check all those charlatans and you will see.

I agree 100%. With ODX you have a well established company already making a profit. I liked NCYT but got out at around 450p because I thought it is perfectly valued even at the top bit. I also believed that during de-confinement, when people start going to work and travel, antibody tests will be in great demand whether in airports, at Boots or even at work. So we are now starting the descending phase of the curve by relaxing confinement and this is where ODX will start playing its big role. I think we haven't even started.

If this lady is getting tested at Harley Street using Elisa Test Kit, it means they really want to see a "home grown" test kits manufacturer.

In order to fulfill the demand for hundreds of millions, say a billion of people to receive an antibody test, no single pharma on earth can satisfy the demand alone. Then for countries like India, South America and Africa, ODX handheld test kit is the most suitable as it gives the results on the spot. How can one wait hours and hours for the results to come back in India or Africa for instance ? Using a lab is these countries will with difficult road connections is totally madness. Roche kit is for laboratory testing while ODX kit is a hand held kit that can that give very fast results on the spot. Roche limitations will be in airports, ports and work places as people need to send the samples to a lab to get the results a few hours later. So the Roche kit is not convenient at all for de-confinement.

When one sees everyday the number of new cases and spikes recorded in India, Brazil etc., both tests are here to stay for a long time because the antigen test helps locate infected people for confinement when the curve is still ascending (India, Africa, South America etc.) while the antibody test helps to safely release people to work, travel etc. (descending curve in Europe). "Mobility rise may trigger second wave in Italy say researchers

A report from Imperial College London looking at the reintroduction of mobility in Italy's population suggests it could suffer a second wave of infections and deaths, bigger than the first.

Italians have been living under a national stay-at-home order since 9 March, with everyone required to remain within a few streets of their door.

This is report 20 from the Imperial team - a sobering read for anyone thinking that things are going to get back to normal.

It looks at drastic measures the Italian government put in and what happens if you reintroduce mobility back into society. It looks at three scenarios: staying in lockdown and increasing movement by 20% and 40%.

Even with the lower figure of 20% of people getting back to normal life, that would be enough to trigger the onset of another wave of infections and subsequent deaths, bigger than the first.

The message is, what you have managed to do is suspend the outbreak - but as soon as you undo lockdown, you run the risk of it flaring up.

The researchers go on to say it is a pessimistic projection and they're not factoring everything in. It is a model, but it doesn’t allow for additional measures like community surveillance, contact tracing and isolating infected people.

Frankly speaking, I cannot believe any company will release by phone sensitive information to an incognito person. What about if he is a crook or even a competitor ? So I hope people won't get silly and just leave to rest.

The only problem with antigen testing is that a person cleared before traveling can become contaminated after reaching his/her house if he/she interact with a contaminated person in the streets for example. So with antigen test, airlines can only clear passengers entering their planes. After that, it's not their problem. Thanks to antibody testing, the 30% detected can now safely start going to work and travel. This is exactly the purpose of antibody testing while the antigen will continue to signal if people are infected or not. However, don't you think that the antibody test results can also be used in a dual mode ? 1/ With antibodies = had the virus so clear. 2/ Without antibodies can the person be considered contaminated or not ? So probably can be double-checked with an antigen test or is he/she free of the virus ? Could it be that antigen test has already done its bit in the ascending part of the curve (confinement) ?

The antibody test proves the person is immune and can interact with others while the antigen test is to only clear the person on the spot. The same person can be contaminated the next minute. So it is clear that antibody testing is the most suitable test during the unlocking phase. It also feeds back to R & D data on the effects of antibodies on immune systems.

For those who are not aware, the Roche kits are for laboratory and ODX kits are manuayly hand held, not requiring waiting for the results. ODX test kits are useful in airports, ports and before traveling in general or when you arrive at a factory/office to start work each morning during the unlocking period. You cannot wait 3 to 4 hours for the results in an airport before you go out. One can imagine the queues of waiting people. So lab. orientated Roche test kit is not suitable for daily checks during the unlocking down.

Anti-body testing during this lock-down will be huge. No single pharma will be enough to supply demand as we will be dealing with billions of tests. Roche case is similar for the detection tests when NCYT for example started manufacturing ts kits. Roche had its test kit too. So nothing will change Except the demand for antibody will be even greater.

NCYT and ODX are rather complementary. NCYT tests are to determine if someone HAS the virsus while ODX antibody test is to determine if someone HAD the virus without knowing. ODX tests are very useful when a country wants to relax its confinement procedures. They test people to check if they have antibodies. Many never felt sick while others were cured after a few days in bed feeling like having flue. The study of their plasma and antibody various concentrations will help to understand if people are naturally immunised (not requiring a vaccine) or not. So the while NCYT test is for confinement, ODX test will be used for future de-confinement.

Don't forget ODX already making a profit without these tests. When one compares it to its peers, apart from NCYT which is now over £4 but with load of orders, none compares to it as they're all making losses with tiny turnover (around £2 million) against more than £9 million for ODX. These tests alone will double turnover and profit.
