I think for any investor looking for the medium to long term, there is no better place to invest than on here. All other sectors have not a lot to offer in the next 12 months as the virus is slowing down the global economies everywhere. Any market "recovery" is only artificial and transient and reality regarding the state of the economy will start to kick in in the next 6 to 12 months. Sectors may lose up to 50% while here we may grow 500%.

All markets are butchered today. No sector has been spared to the slaughter. IMO the markets are anticipating in advance a series of profit warnings from many sectors depending on china where the supply chain is vital. Investing in NCYT is very promising because the company has never faced a situation where it has to manufacture as many test kits as possible to supply demand. In the contrary to other sectors, where growth and EPS will drop by 40 - 50% to reflect the slowdown in the world economy, with NCYT, future numbers will definitely be better than the previous ones, meaning there is growth. I would say that being invested in NCYT puts us in a win/win situation. The first win is the participation in eradicating a deadly virus and the second win is the growing sales and profit.

Every channel is saying the US not prepared. Could be because everybody is waiting for Trump to give them a solution.

the strength of NCYT: The manufacture of a kit that adapts to any virus mutation ! No normal kit manufacturer based simply on engineering principles will be able to quickly modify the equipment. You need to be biologist and engineer at the same time.

Italy just announced 3296 infected with 148 total deaths.
This is despite is has less borders than France and Germany within Schengen.
Germany, another European country announcing 349 infections. Let's wait how this will evolve, especially France with its 8 borders within Schegen space.

Jarv55 - India will be the biggest problem for the WHO because of their cast system where nobody knows how many in those categories are infected. Millions do not have access to healthcare and a similar scenario can happen in Africa.

On the funny side: While other citizens of other nations are stocking food, Australians are in panic buying of what ? .... Toilet paper !!!

The update from Italy shows there are more than 3000 cases with 107 deaths so far. Of course Italy has one of the highest population over 80 years old. Italy is testing aggressively. Schools, universities closed till the 15th of March. Iran is more complicated as nobody know the true extent of the infection. As religious shrines are still open the source of contamination is left free and running.

I think the time will arrive when all suppliers of test kits won't be enough to satisfy the demand. The US are starting to have their cases, Africa may become a big problem and in Europe, many countries, such as the UK, Germany or France, in the exception of Italy, have just started to see the number of cases going up. The question is: When the virus will peak ? Nobody knows and hen we won't know until we test extensively. Without testing it will be impossible to know who is infected and who isn't.

The share price came all the way down to 65p then returned sharply to 160p in 2 days. Those "hoping" will get burnt without warning.

Update on CE Mark Approved coronavirus test

Paris, France and Camberley, UK - 14 February 2020 - Novacyt ( EURONEXT GROWTH: ALNOV; AIM: NCYT ), an international specialist in clinical diagnostics, is pleased to announce that, further to its announcement on 7 February 2020, its subsidiary, Primerdesign Limited, is on schedule to launch a CE-Mark approved nCoV test in the week commencing 17 February 2020. It not anymore a question of who is supplying the test kit or not. It is a question of HOW MANY kits can be supplied as the numbers are growing exponentially.
