well, another potential hazard for the bond market could be the point where various chinese entities which are lumbering on like zombies with massive unacknowledged bad, bad, debts go belly up when those debts finally have to be written off? if enough of those happen at once, there is risk of a domino effect wiping value off many bonds, & market having to re-assess credit ratings of some large issuers. i hope it doesn't happen, but rising chinese bad debt concerns me.

you're not alone with that re AIM by a long, long way. i'm sure that 85%- 90% of the punters who post on these boards are losing money overall on AIM over the last 12 - 18 months or so. until and unless global demand picks up properly, & until the chinese find a way out of their mounting bad debt crisis which they are still refusing to face directly, then markets will remain very, very shaky, with depressed prices for commodities being part of that --- but also perhaps more crucially for many AIM shares the risk appetite for financial backers to support resource tiddlers just isn't there, so they demand ever higher discounts; very bad for any jobbing pi who is mainly trying to make their living off smaller AIM stocks. i also think there are many pis now experimenting with trading on AIM who would never have done so before the liberalisation of pension investing / SIPP changes. which brings many lambs to the slaughter. the government should never have allowed AIM stocks into pensions imv, way too risky & tempting for ordinary folks.

but presumably it makes no difference to you one way or the other though, since you were and presumably still are happy to hold into suspension awaiting some fine RTO, rather than being interested in trading out on the current share price.

"Absolutely puzzled why the RNS Has been released." yes, slightly puzzling... possibly the nomad insisted that market needed to be given more up to date info about current cash position, so that those still in had a fair chance to make their decision whether to stick it out for suspension, or not, based on accurate information. .. potentially misleading investors if company allowed market to believe it had more cash than it does, or to think that cash burn is lower than this. (doesn't really look like an RNS that the company itself would have been itching to release, if given free choice on that.)

seems to hold up very well in current markets. am unsure whether that reflects native common-sense & self-preservation instincts of players, or pure cold fear. things look worse & worse in china. can't those guys see they have serious bad debt prob looming? (appreciate, dwha not selling there, but when they catch bad cold, europe will have ebola.)

i suppose a particular downside risk comes if something very nasty indeed happens to bond markets, since that will hit the asset base here fairly hard (of course, along with many other shares!). but so far as i have understood it, legal's bond holdings are mainly at high quality end. the pluses overall make it a decent hold from my own perspective. gla.

resilient. 'tho perhaps a concern that so many shorts building re property again. .... considered adding to long position here, but still waiting for the other shoe to drop on sterling rates.

royo, i've already explained what my interest is, more than once. i do post on many boards, yes. some are ones where i invest and am long, others are ones where i might invest, or have been invested, while others (like this) are purely for interest/learning/entertainment. i'm not 'blocking' any share board... you and anyone else are free to post whatever you want, i'm not stopping you. and if you don't want to read what i post, just hit your filter button.

lol, i tend to kick myself rather more about sxx as one that got away .... bought some around 5.5/6p-ish, then felt pleased with myself for banking profits circa 8p-8.5p .. now look at it!

(royo, if you want to find an AIM share where i did indeed lose money, look no further than globo! i thought it looked v. good, but perhaps a bit too good to be true. nonetheless, i thought i would take the risk of being long there. sure enough, it was indeed too good to be true, and turned out to be a scam, so my globo stake went kabung. that's fair enough, i knew when i invested that it was a high risk share, and that some had concerns about the cash & accounts. win some, lose some. trick is, win more.)

your memory is at fault royo -- it's easy enough to check posting history if you are that interested. i made some good money on the initial sula mega -spike, but sadly for me didn't make more as i held onto some into what turned out to be the long slow decline. so profit made overall, but i do wish i had sold 'em all back when it was 5/6/7, sad lol. i can't remember offhand if i still held any when nick started banging on about coltan, or if had fully exited by that point .. i think i was out a while before. coltan never really seemed very credible to me, i think NW just desperately constructing a placing story. but anyway, a little o/t for GWIK bb, apols.

i sometimes take chances on AIM shares. currently holding two of them, i think. yes, i took a chance on SULA a long time ago, & made some money on it. i exited from that share completely a good while ago, as it has looked like dead duck since iron crashed. (me, i never believed the coltan/gold/JV stuff.) one of the (probably many, lol) differences between you and me is you stayed long in sula, topping up repeatedly as it fell.

real movement should be pretty limited partly because genuine volume has near dried up as suspension approaches. time has run out for anyone wanting to build a new big position, or to dump a big position. now just tiddlers adjusting.

yes, sure are plenty of keyboard warriors about. better not to get too emotional about investments, but some AIM pis do tend to get rather passionate. alternatively, could try posting about the company itself? so what is there to say ... a) they have couple of decent oil industry consultants in the team b) a little over £1m in cash c) a financial saleswoman on board d) looking for an RTO, at a time when sector as a whole in some distress. hence, it has a chance of coming good & making money. - and what are the downsides? a) no revenue stream, income, other assets. b) hence if it doesn't find a decent RTO, no real plan B other than to unwind. c) £1m is not a particularly big cash pile. d) plenty of others hunting similar assets. e) failed RTO attempt after CEB, although some changes since in BoD composition. some pros & some cons. remains a highly speculative AIM micro-cap share facing suspension & delisting if they don't crack on. meanwhile, bank holiday weekend, so beer & the seaside is calling. c some of you next week, no doubt.
