Tommy... the official NHS database has 667 beds occupied by Covids patients in London as at 10 sep and my understanding is that is has doubled in the last week (it is updated daily but with a lag), backing what Chris Whitty said today. Not sure why you think there are 167 but dont want to have an argument with you... whatever it is, we dont want to have all ICU beds occupied by Covid patients.

they are much more likely in my view to announce that the death rates are falling, hospital rates falling due to treatments they have instigated than yelling to the public to all go order Synairgen. I think which medicine to use will be up to the quacks. That in my opinion, given it has to go through the trusts will depend if it has a cost benefit over another drug in keeping you out of hospital or lowering your days. There is no reason for any quack to not use this if it was therapeutic and optimal. None at all. Thus, when they are able to produce in quantity and are able to distribute, there is no reason to suppose that the medics wont be using it. Chris Whitty seems a sound man to me - he aint going to tell his Profs and Docs throughout London " nah, i fancied a vaccine only" is he??? Also, i know absolutely he is well linked to really the top pulmonary docs certainly in London and they talk all the time.

Remember we dont need it announced on the BBC... what we as shareholders need given the limited number of shares, is mega licensing contracts - they dont depend on announcements on the Beeb. They might have looked at Trump going off on treatments earlier in the Summer and the damage that did and they just dont need it. 10 global licensing deals or even a deal with NHS Procurement doesnt need PR announcments IMHO

Whitty (who i have on very good authority ha from the beginning refused to sit in any gov briefing meetings with Dominic Cummings), needs the public to listen so they are not infected - London hospitals almost now full already... thus his no 1 priority is limiting the number of people who get this disease. Also, in Spanish Flu, the old died to start with but the second year the young died as the virus mutated. Thus i would be horrified if their no 1 concern was not to stop people getting ill. They are top docs, of course they know about Synairgen and they are discussing this and other treatments with the medics and trusts/nhs procurement - no doubt about this. Not convinced they will ever announce this as if everyone thinks they can take an thing like an asthma thing, then everyone would get infected and they will have entirely failed. What drugs are used to treat people are in my view, never likely to be broadcast as there might be eg 3 or 4 treatments which are better depending if you are on steroids, a diabetic, have cancer, transplant, young, old etc and it would be ridiculous if the public was demanding one drug which may or may not be the best for them. If the docs want Synairgen, they will be nagging their trusts for it shortly, not least for their own safety

Had two friends come through Heathrow last week with a 2 day layover - they explained at airport they were staying with a friend for one day then family the next day then they flew back out. They had come from a country requiring 14 day quarantine here - but no-one knew if they were meant to or not - the rules just say they can leave again within the 14 days, which they did. So crazy - even the officials at the airport dont know what they are meant to do for those 2 days - multiply that by a few thousand and no wonder Windsor has 5x the rate of the south west. go to gov web site and totally unclear about layovers other than saying you need to make sure your visa is ok. shambles.

A couple of months ago i posted that the inventors dont always make a killing as the price of the drug is hammered down by eg NHS procurement but the suppliers do normally make a killing... the trail went a bit dead as the interferon seems to be made by a massive private german company and the neb by Philips (which i track). However, Blackrock, from having been a shareholder in PCT, shorted it then taken over PCT, would have all the data thus would have worked out all likely suppliers - as the profit is more likely to be there...

Incidentally, i primarily bought into Vectura due to their buy back of their own shares which is ongoing this year. Blackrock could have well done the same on a Warren Buffet type strategy i.e. returning value to shareholders via cancelling shares. Might have nothing to do with Synairgen at all. Also i would be surprised if Blackrock wasnt into at least 30 similar companies .
Further, Blackrock was long time shareholder in Woodford PCT then as losses built, massively shorted it; then took it over... So they would have always known a lot about Synairgen. Certainly they have all the Woodford research at their disposal

Anyway the point is probably not to draw a link between Vec, Syn and Blackrock as you might as well toss about 20 other companies into that mix... I mean i track 66 of them and hold about 10 so Blackrock will have zillions more than me.

i'm in both Synairgen and Vectura... my take which might be well off, was that Synairgen has a tesco strategy i.e. has product, will license it, move onwards. Vectura, to me is more like Ocado: will license knowledge to help other companies i.e. Synairgen might have been their client. I guess there might be some benefit to merging if they both wanted to have an Ocado type strategy on the use of the IP. But i would not have thought that was Synairgens priority / first wish to be honest.

Curious that during the day that the twats and scoundrels on this board make my screen green... but after everyone goes home from work, they vanish and i get about one green line on screen. its like they (or one of them) are employed and then by and large clock off. Maybe they are from east of UK and just go to bed due to time difference. Maybe if i was a chinese company wanting to get the 1m moonlaunch testing i'd employ a few people to throw spanners in the works of everyone working against that... makes me wonder anyway given they / he / she goes to bed or clocks off by and large.
