What I do note is that those who continually deride AFC NEVER offer any positives - if you look at the bigger picture, why wouldn't AFC want a diverse and competitive product range ?

I find people's attitude rather perverse. Yes I'm as frustrated as everyone else with news management but when we do have news, good news even, let's celebrate it ? Don't you want the SP to improve? If not, what's your agenda here ?

Anyone heard of the term "e-mobility" before in the context of AFC ? (I'm assuming this is the electric charging sector).

I'm pleased with today's announcement. It shows that the company is still innovative with the view of getting variations of the fuel cell into different markets. Well done AFC !

I do agree with many posters that we need to keep abreast of our core market and how this is leading to sales - if Southern is slowing down then why aren't we pursuing other customers/partners ?

I also noted the explicit use of the term "alkaline water electrolysis" - this is a clear indication to me that DeNora will be using AFCs tech in their many and varied applications around the world - I am expecting to hear more on this over the coming weeks.

Good morning. It’s interesting that we don’t appear to have requested UK Gov funding previously. Especially when our previous chairman was so close to Government. Does that suggest that we don’t see a need for it(as we’re so far advanced now possibly or is it only now becoming available for H2 projects? Weather looking brighter here this morning. Let’s hope AFC allows this board to be brighter from now on... eternal optimist here:)

So, on the positive side, Advanced Plastics and DeNoro wouldn't be on the scene if we didn't have a product that was close to being commercial, so we can at least assume that we have a working product now and the delay is, as BumbleB provides as a suggestion that we're in the final stages of getting a baselined design for mass manufacture and hopefully contracts to back-up the manufacturing - all speculation I know

Hi Rooky I’ve been invested here almost 10 years with a substantial holding so I am well aware of seeing my investment erode dramatically over those years. I do not bleat about it continuously trying to erode it even further. People should write to AFC directly or phone. We are still in the commercialisation stage and this is a long and complex process that requires time to ensure our product is fit for purpose and stable to take into mass production. Yes it’s incredibly frustrating not knowing what’s going on but we’ve committed our hard earned to enable afc to get on with that task. Like it or lump it, it’s our decision.

Is it big enough?

FFS listen to you lot it’s pathetic. Wait for bloody news and stop wasting your time bleating on. It was your choice to invest in this company. Man up an wait until we receive news. I know for certain that once an RNS has been issued you’ll be sunshine and light again and AFC can do no wrong. It’s tedious in the extreme ! This used to be us good natured informative and fun board. Listen to yourselves! Just wait. I trust AFC will honour their legal commitments and provide us with their year end report soon.

Hi Pandy2 - as I said I understand the sentiment - we've all lost a bundle (on paper!) on this point in time - my point being why would you sell before imminent news and before we know what's going on from a commercialisation aspect. Nothing has changed here as far as I can see that would indicate a sudden departure - may as well hang on and see where we're heading - oh look we're 14% up - what's that all about?

..and I doubt solar power can provide sufficient charge for multiple cars - you'd have to fill the car park with solar panels ? Yes, I see it as a logical application of solar but as a complimentary power source. And as BumbleB has already pointed out, useless at night

Seems to be a lot of people saying goodbye to AFC all of a sudden - understandable sentiment, but really ?

I wouldn't be surprised if we now have a storming RNS in the morning after all the gloomy messages today and somebody will make a killing when the SP retraces. Either that or news has leaked and we have more never-ending delays to becoming commercial with orders

Hi Anneowl - I disagree - CH2ARGE acknowledges there is a market for car charging mechanisms as more and more battery powered cars are sold. AFC have an option of providing an off-grid solution to the charging market:
a) to reduce dependency on the grid even if grid is accessible
b) to provide charging where grid access is not accessible in remote locations

Morning all. So why would anyone not be pleased with this RNS? (Zither than it’s not a contract). AFC are well on the road to becoming a commercial operation. As part of that route they are refining the design towards PLACE and APL are now part of our manufacturing partners who will take those final designs to use as their manufacturing template. So now we have DeNora and APL. A great positive step!

It should be "simple" to leave - we've only been in the EU for 40 years or so. We, as a nation existed and traded with European countries and the rest of the world for centuries previously. EU as a mechanism for trading as a body is fine. The EU "project" is not so good in my opinion - the waste in terms of red tape and bureaucracy is sickening.
The main sticking point is of course the backstop - we need 100% confidence that we can continue as a United Kingdom going forward and Northern Ireland is an integral part of our 4 great nations.

MPs have been and continue to be divisive across ALL parties. In hind-sight, a cross-party Brexit committee should have been created alongside government to ensure the will of the people was enacted by truthful and informed decision making BEFORE the vote and then AFTER the vote if the people voted leave. Government could then have continued governing in parallel to Brexit and ensured less distraction and policies remain in focus and enacted

For the record, I was a borderline remainer. I firmly believe however that we will continue to function independently as a great nation, as we have always done. It will provide an opportunity to grow and provide incentives to further produce companies like AFC and influence the world.

I think that if we end up having a vote again (I definitely believe we should NOT vote again) that the vote will be to leave again, by a greater majority! EU have been less than proactive to get this deal through - they don't want us to leave - why would they ?

Good to see Hydrogen Fuel Cells specifically mentioned in PHEs website - to me, AFCs cells sat alongside PHEs DMG go hand-in-hand.

Exactly that - we have no idea what AFC are developing currently, what the current longevity is, what markets we're aiming for (car chargers, local generation, back-up systems, off-grid solutions, multi-MW feed into grid). Do we even have a viable disruptive product ?

Without progress updates on previous targets we're investing blind and we're trapped from making informed decision whilst they keep us in radio silence.

There clearly isn't any news forthcoming ahead of the annual report as they'd have to release SP sensitive news. I fear a bland annual report that will string us along for another 3 months. Do AFC ever intend becoming commercial ? If I had invested millions in this business, I'd want to see a very decent return and very quickly given the 10 years they've invested in AFC. I'll be happy right now getting my original investment back - seems pie in the sky right now though. A blue Monday (would be nice).
